for sure .. its best for the Flyers and Frost to move on from each other
- jd250

Production wise he is on par or ahead of most of the flyers impressive forward core. Subtracting Konecny, MM & Tippett.

No need to worry about playoff contention with this quality of goaltending. Tough sledding when giving up at least 1 soft goal a game.

Kolosov with 4 goals against on 19 shots, dude, make a save! The Flyers with the worst goaltending in the league!

two bad goals against this period from Kolosov .. he really needs to be playing in the AHL right now to develop, he is not ready for the NHL and its sometimes painfuil to watch.

Another one from ColonSOFT! Flyers back to their golden standard of goaltending.

Hopefully it will not be 50 years without a playoff like the Stanley Cup drought.

I wonder if Torts is coaching in 50 years? He will be 116 years old!

Briere and Jones' plan is starting to come in to focus for me. Pretend they are trying to win while low key soft tanking through the goalies. I like it. They get the best of both worlds. Fool the old head "Torters" with their BS standard and culture thing while giving them the old familiar "its the goaltending" that is the problem.

Its a soft tank while looking like they are trying. Pretty soon we may see a Fedotov/Petersen tandem until Ersson is back.

Geniuses afterall. Top 5 pick here we come!

I will take a top 5 anyway we can get it, the Carter Hart event is saving the Flyers from themselves

You can do that if you choose to. Since we're into suggestions. What I would suggest is that instead of going with anecdotal evidence. Spend time such as I have studying systems. Watching and listening to seminars on offensive hockey that are publicly available by strong offensive hockey coaches such as Martin St. Louis and Peter Laviolette for example. You mention systems. Offensive play is as very much a structure of play and system of attack as defense or a forecheck is. Watch some of that and it illuminates what is missing from the Flyers structure and system. The Flyers head coach has self admitted that he doesn't know how to coach offense. How can a head coach that admits that, not stifle offense? By the very nature of his not being able to effectively coach it, he does. Rocky Thompson certainly doesn't fill the void. It's why I repeatedly see the lack of balance, spacing and key strategies of offensive attack systems that are missing from the Flyers attack.

yes he does need AHL time. yet he thinks he is too good for the AHL. right now they do not have many options so he has to stay.

is it possible both Russians bolt after the season?

- is anyone really excited for this team or future? if so why? I just see a bunch of blah

- Jackson comparing Cates to Stone is hysterical. looking forward to that ext in 2 weeks.

- continuing to employ rocky is a disgrace.

- all one can do is laugh when you look at this center group.

- #14 is going to have a long few years before his contract winds down.

- the future is still running on the hamster wheel

I believe the Flyers should assist Fedotov in his departure this offseason. He is not an NHL goalie and he will not turn into one over the next year and a half. They just need to take a firm stance with Kolosov. If he goes back to Russia they still hold his rights in the NHL. If he wants to be in the NHL it will be with the Flyers.

Stop getting pushed around by unproven talent.

Michkov is going to be a top level offensive talent. Tippett is exciting when he is going. Foerster will be a very good player for a long time. They have a few good young d-men in York and Andrae. Drysdale will ultimately be a disappointment unless the offense comes around.

Michkov is the only player to really tune in for night in and night out. It's a marathon not a sprint to rebuild a team.

Why is the World Juniors only on the NHL Network? It is the only sports channel I do not get with the combo of Hulu Live and ESPN+

Im arguing nonstop (I know I should stop) with this guy on Twitter who says its time for Briere to make big moves to allow this team to take the next step. And I am like, what next step? They need to start the rebuild.

So many fans think this team is way closer than it is. I argued they are 5-7 years away from being a SC contender if they start right now. A large part of the fanbase is delusional, just the way management wants them.

If they mean getting rid of Risto, The Room and Coots then yes that is what I want. If that means making hockey trades to move out some of the younger guys for young players that fit needs then yes I want that.

I do not want to trade draft picks or young players for established players just to win a few more games over the next 3-4 years.

Michkov will indeed be a top level talent. I like Tippett, he is fast and has a shot, but he is so wildly inconsistent. I hope he finds that consistency. Foerster is a nice player but he is, IMO, at best a high end 3rd liner, decent 2nd line player.

This whole organization is chock full of middle 6 to bottom 9 forward prospects and chock full of 2nd a 3rd pair defenseman prospects.

Drafting in the teens and 20's with their 3 first round picks will get you more of the same. They need elite talent and unless they get very lucky, like Brayden Point, Drew Doughty type lucky in later rounds, things are looking bleak.

The plan seems to be they will throw big money at a UFA, or more than one. While that may give them a short term lift, it will most likely be an overpay, at too much term, for a player on the downside of their career. It may open a window, but the window will be short and in a few years they will be right back where they started, capped out and on the bubble.

I hope things go right, but that is how I see it happening.

any person with some semblance of hockey knowledge knows they are very far away from real contention.

They lack elite talent at all 3 of the positions. D and goalies are horrific.

Even if they want to make a move, is there one to be made? what and who may be available?

Yep, both will turn 30 in their first season with us, signed to 7 year deals. Both on the downsides of their careers. Bennett has never even scored 30 goals or 60 points.

Exactly what we don't need, and exactly the kind of thing they would do.
