Michkov is going to be a top level offensive talent. Tippett is exciting when he is going. Foerster will be a very good player for a long time. They have a few good young d-men in York and Andrae. Drysdale will ultimately be a disappointment unless the offense comes around.

Michkov is the only player to really tune in for night in and night out. It's a marathon not a sprint to rebuild a team.

Yep, both will turn 30 in their first season with us, signed to 7 year deals. Both on the downsides of their careers. Bennett has never even scored 30 goals or 60 points.

I'm very interested in a Sam Bennett type trade. Bennett was traded by CLG for a 2nd rd pick and a prospect. He was 24 at the time of the trade. Zito did a great job of utilizing his assets to strengthen the team. Savvy GMs make these trades all the time.

He is a future 3c that *if* he hits is ceiling is a 2C. Nice player but Zeev is so much better. But then again JL has one goal in the tourney so he should slide right in and be a "true Flyer."

i"m advocating for the Flyers to trade for players 25 or younger who are underachieving on their current team. Use assets to acquire such a player that strengthens the roster. To this point, Briere has traded assets for picks while re signing most players on the roster. If the organization is devoid of talent to compete- seems like that strategy is lacking unless Briere turns out to be a top 5 drafter of prospects in the league. Seems like a very narrow path to success.

yes he does need AHL time. yet he thinks he is too good for the AHL. right now they do not have many options so he has to stay.

It's a real problem because clearly the Flyers are carrying 3 goalies because they know if they move Kolosov to the AHL he will return to Russia. I mean, its obvious that is what is going on, so as a result Fedotov can't play and Andrae is sent down. The fact that Ersson can't stay on the ice is further complicating the situation. This is just not a good situation. If Kolosov continues to be like this, unfortunately the Flyers need to trade him. He is basically handcuffing the organization right now.

The point being Zeev is the better pick and DB screwed it up. How has JL looked in this tourney? One positive, at least he is a plus player.

I don't think anybody could reasonably argue that Jett is having a better D+1 season so far than Zeev. Nobody has a crystal ball on where they'll be down the road, but judging strictly on what they've done pre and post draft day, Zeev is (way) ahead.

Jett needs to have a monster D+1 breakout. So far it has yet to happen. He's getting left in the dust by his peers.

Maybe, but as Tomahawk mentioned he is getting behind with his peers. Maybe a trade would benefit him but jd250 thinks this kid is going to be a true 1C. I just don;t see it... will he be a good player? Yes. Will he be elite? Don't think so... not very encouraged with his + year or his play in the WJC.

He's a nice player but he is the kind of player you add as a secondary player. They need elite talent. All adding a player like that does is improve you to the point of making it less likely to get elite talent.

The G trade was Tippett and the 1st rd pick. So right now, it is an unquestioned fact the prospect picked will not be a difference maker on top of the production Tippett is currently giving at the NHL. Time will tell how good Bonk will become- social media scouts may turn out to be correct- srill way too early to tell.
So I disagree the structure of this type of trade was not a failure.
