Had a shot at tickets for the Devils game on the 9th. Section 105 Row 5, $350 for two.
Told him I'd rather watch them lose at home.

No he is definitely not doing what I would have done. Chemistry is vital for any team, he read the room wrong.

I would have given this group one more shot. Next year Igor and Laffy contracts kick in so it wasnt imperative to move anyone.

The team is a toxic waste dump now, its one thing to lose when you are young and learning, they are losing because they are emotionless zombies walking thru the season. Drurys actions are what destroyed the team. Even if he can offload Mikas contract, it wouldnt matter because there isnt a number one center out there to be had to replace him. The only thing would be, it will be the beginning of the changing of the core then.

The only move that might be available to them to replace him is a Zib for Miller swap. Miller obviously has issues in VAN, maybe Zib being a Swede will work out better for them.

I dont know, do we want Miller for another 7 years till he is 38?? Ive been reading the Leafs would be a good fit but they have no Cap pace.

If miller means no longer having zib, you do the trade 100 times out of 100. Miller can actually still play hockey

Yea even me who couldn’t stand Miller in the old days, and defended Zib to the death would do that trade lol

If they could pull off a blockbuster with zib, Kreider and Keandre miller for JT miller and Soucy that would be a good deal imo. I’d even retain a portion of zib and Kreider which might have to happen. Vancouver would be taking on more money

Zib would probably ok any trade with Krieder going with him, and vice versa but that’s a lot of salary going to another team

I figured you’d take a broken bowling ball for Zib

At MINIMUM, JT Miller yelling at everyone is better than Mika staring into the abyss deciding whether he cares.

On another note, Garand might be the real deal. I’m not demanding we trade a proven top 3 goalie in Shesty, but that would be crazy if we drafted another top goalie.

My brother was telling me that teams were scouting him right before he got hurt. So maybe he’s piece they could use in a trade. But he’d be ideal to take over for quick next season and play 25-30 games [/img]

Yea, I’m not in love with the idea of trading him now when he could boost his value tremendously backing up next year.

The Trouba money needed to be for Shesty. But this year the money he hasn’t spent can be used as a hammer at the TDL for fascinating trades, getting picks back he traded away, and the patience from fans. And if they retain on their own guys that’s even better picks. He’s done a good job of getting cap space, people have to give him that. But they won’t because we suck as fans
- Slimtj100

I must have missed where I said all was Drury's fault. The positives and negatives of his stint as GM are well documented. Gaining cap space is a positive, but being forced into that position was not. The Kakko deal to me was not great especially if he continues to be a solid third line winger. But that could be mollified if Borgen brings back anything decent at the deadline (his play so far has not been inspiring, but he is a big physical d-man, which has value).

You know my affection for Zib, but barring a complete mental reset, he needs to go elsewhere. Anyone not expect him to re-find his game if dealt?

The team won the presidents trophy last year. The only real difference on the team is smith replacing Goodrow and Chytill replacing Wennberg. Now they are a bottom feeder. How is this all Drury’s fault? It’s the same team. It’s ok to blame the players for sucking too.

So you really think if Goodrow was here this team would be in a playoff spot playing good hockey?

Lets also not forget we started off the season 12-4, so its not like they were playing like crap the whole year.

What I want to know is... where is Kreider in all this. He was the one that many of you wanted to be captain. Maybe Im missing something or Im not seeing it but it seems like hes been hiding under a rock during this stretch. Kind of not a good look.

They tailed off hard even before the losing started and then the bottom dropped out. I could go all the way back to where I said they’d start losing if they didn’t fix the issues but I’m way too lazy. Not like I was the only one to see it, but things weren’t as good as the record showed

That Askorov kid, on a team that’s given up the most goals in the NHL (146) has a.915 SV% and 2.62 GAA. Not bad for a kid that isn’t ready

If Goodrow was here and the drama didn’t go on with Trouba? 100%. You don’t go from winning the Presidents trophy and making the ECF to suddenly being the laughing stock of the league. Say whatever u want about them being professionals, end of the day they’re not motivated to play for a putz that ruined the team chemistry. I think they’re all praying to get a 1 way ticket out of here so they don’t have to deal with this moron Drury anymore. Publicly coming out saying Kreider is on the block is going to make him play harder?!?!? Hahahaha. Drury is an amateur, and a bad one at that.
