From what I understand it's being totally overblown by the media. Miller has some anger-management issues, which he's had for his whole adult life. Petey is a quiet introverted kid from Sweden, he made an easy target for the bully Miller. People stepped in a told him to knock it off. Things have been resolved, they both just need to step up to the plate and deliver. That and fix the awful defense. - Pacificgem

I don't remember that, maybe though. He wasn't as great in the playoffs (bad bounces, injury)...
However, both your statements can be true. Fans are idiots, and he might have helped keep things together in there. Clearly the locker room leadership isn't the same as it was last year, and he was one of the better spoken and highly regarded vets. - NewYorkNuck
Cole had some very bad lowlights in the playoffs. I remember receiving multiple texts from flames fans cheering for canucks against oilers wondering wtf cole was doing. He had a tough playoffs no doubt, some bad bounces and it just snowballed. I still think he was a stabilizing force for the majority of the year. |

Cole did struggle last year at times, especially in the playoffs. Zadorov is missed however. I tried to convince myself they were winning before he got to Vancouver, and they were, but they were better when he arrived.
All that said, he's not a 5 million a year player so I'm glad they didn't re-sign him. He took his greedy selfish ass to Boston to play with all the other pri cks who play there. |

Preferably, yes!! But I don't think it's going to happen. This too shall pass.
But hey...never say never, things could still happen as they're being played out in the media. |

I'd pay 5 million for what he brought to Canucks last year, not for what he's doing on Bruins. |

Plus, he hasn't been playing so great this year over there. The team misses what he brings, but they also dodged somewhat of a bullet by not signing him. |

Yes...if he would've signed for 4 million he'd be right where he should be. |

The offers were very close in salary. From what I understand, they wouldn't give him a NTC and he's tired of being moved mid season over and over...

Let's be real, Miller is the biggest pouter on the team. |

Elias Pettersson on trade rumours: “I'm aware of it, I've heard it. But then it's like, can I control it? No. I'm sure it will go away if I play better and if we win.”
Does he want to remain with Canucks?
“Yeah, of course. That's why I signed here. Of course.” |

100%....Miller is a great player when he's on, but he can also be a lazy selfish pouty bi tch who doesn't care about anyone but himself or playing well defensively. |

I don't think we see any trades haappen until the roadtrip is over. If they play well, they stay as is, if they suck, then different story |

He only signed because he was pressured into it and wasn’t going to get that contract anywhere else. |

100%. Crappy part is he is also the team's most effective forward in between pouts. |

You need to check out that Dupont kid when you get a chance. |

If Boston doesn't want to rebuild/retool, he would be a good fit there. They badly need a top line centre otherwise. |

I agree, he was pressured into it, but, there were reports before he signed that he could’ve got that and then some from other teams. People in Vancouver (Canuck fans in general) don’t realize what a great young offensive player he is, mostly because he’s not physical or an in-your-face Canadian style of player. The numbers don’t lie.
Sure he wasn’t a point per game player the final 37 games last year, he had 28 points the final 37 games, but he still had an 89 point year in 82 games. That’s a really good year. That’s top 18 in NHL scoring. This year he’s had a bit of a slow start, but again, he still has 28 points in 35 games, hardly terrible given the team/personal challenges.
People are so quick to judge, which is why they make stupid decisions like trading young guys like Cam Neely, Joe Thornton, Tyler Seguin, Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart usually doesn’t turn out well. People need to STFU and appreciate what a great player he is.
Here’s a list of current NHL players and their point production 25 and under.
