Good luck spending more time on teaching kids that when they spend most of their time on TikTok and playing various video games that promote the exact opposite.
- Rare_Jewel

Tik tok and social media has certainly impacted kids and society negatively.
Im not sure video games have...with regards to sportsmanship. Social skills, less exercise and potential impact on social skills (in a physical setting) sure.

Reading a Leafs trade pitch.

To Toronto: Bowen Bryam (3 mil retained)
To Buffalo: Connor Timmins, Alex Steeves, 2026 1st, 2027 2nd round pick.

Do you do it Leafs Nation?

You can only retain a maximum of 50% of the cap hit. In this case, it would be $1.925M.

Ehh... Byram isn't what this team needs. I'd rather package that 1st up for a 2C.

Isn't Tavares your 2nd C?

Figured you'd be looking at a 3C for a lesser cost.

I dont include the 2nd.
But not sure this works for the leafs as they have their top 4 set. This would drop oel to the 3rd line, which isnt bad i guess.
I dont see Buffalo trading this guy.
Also, leafs can only retain 50%, so about $1.9m, then his new contract might out of the leafs affordability.
Unless you trade morgan for a 3c and picks, or oel for a 3c.

If you have a roster space open to stash a player, Boone Jenner has resumed skating. It remains to be seen when he’ll return, but Jenner is a low-risk, high-reward option at this point in multi-cat leagues if he’s sitting there on waivers. He’s had trouble staying healthy, though you could simply drop him if things don’t work out.

here's the article.
https://heavy.com/sports/...pitch-leafs-sabres-byram/

I see were the 3mil comes from as the writer used his hole contract .
"Byram is in the final year of his two-year $7.7 million deal" which is totally correct but should use his cap hit.

Technically speaking, you can get a third team involved to eat more of the salary.

Why would Columbus be putting their 31-year-old captain, who makes less than $4M, on waivers?

Of course...but that will cost more capital from the leafs.

If history is any indicator, the Blue Jackets giving us their captain isn't much help.

On a further note, if Jenner goes on waivers, 26 other teams would have to pass on him before he fell in our lap.

So I'm not saying it wouldn't happen...

Oh, wait, yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying wouldn't happen.

Washington getting career years from Strome, Tom Wilson, Chychrun, McMichael and Ovi all at the same time is a good strategy..could throw in Sandin also

Ovi is scoring at a higher rate than any of his other seasons.. and more than Matthews g/60 last season.

weird wild stuff

I don't know if its a hot take but I think they have an average 2nd half. Will finish 3rd in the division or 2nd WC spot.
