As they should. Flyers are building a culture cup winner here. |

I like the kid and of course, hope he does well. However, I cringe every time he takes a big hit. It will take a while to see if JD is going to be a piece to our team going forward. I'm just hoping he can finish the season injury-free. - Don Nachbaur
A couple things..Ghost was pretty much the same age as what Drysdale is now when he was a rookie….22. I think Drysdale was rushed and clearly wasn’t ready despite where he was drafted. Add in he has had some injuries to limit his development …He’s a work in progress. Drysdale is a superior skater over Ghost but I see no where the same offensive skill set that ghost has always showed and still does…the question is can Drysdale bring his offensive game from his Jr days to the NHL? While learning how to defend at a “pro” level….I still think he has a chance to put it all together…my confidence level of that happening is guarded at best. …but I remind a lot of D don’t hit their stride until they are in their mid twenties….there’s still a lot of time… |

TBH, this team just isn’t exciting. There’s excitement around Michkov as we can all see the superstar potential he has. TK is exactly the top talent we know him to be. But nothing else nor nothing team-wide is exciting. For me, there was some excitement around the team because I was expecting fun progression from Foerester, Frost, Farabee, Brink, York, Drysdale, Kolosov, Ersson, and even Tippett. None of these players have taken off. There are some recent signs of maturing with Foerester and Frost and Brink but nothing that is exuding excitement. Hopefully something happens to change that |

The problem is that his offensive game from his OHL days, wasn't that great. In the 40 point range. The issue is that I see it sporadically. He has had a handful of really solid games. The rest are mediocre to poor. I don't see the hockey sense. Especially offensively. When and where to jump in holes late on the rush. He's a really strong skater yet he is rarely a threat as an option on a rush play. On the PP, it's basically just lateral skating and moving the puck side to side. He rarely makes a play. He's never going to be a strong defender. If the offense isn't there, meh. Emil Andrae is already a better player and apparently there is no room for him on the Flyers.

We are all hoping for that. But they are what they are. Talented middle 6 NHL players. They all lack one thing or another (Foerster-Speed, Frost-killer instinct, Farabee-elite skill, Brink-size, Drysdale-hockey sense, Tippett-hockey sense) to make them all the ELITE players we need. They can still progress, but they all have holes in their game that cant be taught. As for the goalies, they have both learned that the NHL is not the KHL. The KHL is the AHL with a little more talent at the top. |

In his final year in the O he had 47 points in 49 games… as well as a 20 year old d man in the NHL he did put up 32 points… that’s not to bad.. do I think he an offensive guy? I do … I don’t see a 60 point guy in there but I see a guy that has a chance to be a top 4 player who will better learn to use his speed and help in the transition game…I agree that at this point Andrae is better and should be playing up with the big club… |

In my opinion, Foerster is going to be the best player out of all of them. I would consider him closest to untouchable. Not untouchable but closest. I really like Farabee and he has played at a high level at times but going back to February and last season and counting this season so far, in 71 games. Has 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points. His slump from the latter part of last season has continued into this season. That's alarming. I wouldn't be surprised if Frost has a solid 2nd half. He seems to be a 2nd half player but that isn't good enough. He needs to start better and be more consistent. I personally don't think it will happen here if it happens. Tippett can score some goals but that's about it. If he loses a step skating, that will be it. Signing him to an 8 year deal was a mistake and an error in judgement. I like Brink and I think he can be a 3rd line winger in this league who can chip in offensively.

You're right, I neglected to look at games played in his final OHL year and just looked at points. Thanks for the correction. He had a solid rookie NHL year but he seems to have lost his game. Injuries are of course a major factor but I just don't see a player who sees the ice and makes plays. He has to be a significant offensive contributor to be a top 4. |

Leafs wasn't a great matchup for the flyers under Keefe. They score less under Chief Berube. But they are a little bit tighter defensively. 1 point max over this back to back. |

I'm not even sure that if there were 2 guys named Drysdale on the ice that JD would be the better one.
That said, he's on the team and let's hope for the best. |

Its a shame, Farabee was looking like he might turn into a really good player before his disc/neck surgery. |

Farabee played at a very high level and was producing at a top line rate in the first half of 23/24 then he fell off a cliff. So I'm not sure it's related to that.

IKR! Hutson and Buium are both looking really good. High hockey IQs and very skilled players. Definitely not Flyers type players.

I actually think Hutson looks significantly better than Buium in this tournament. Caps got him in the second round…nice pick. |
