Some falls on Hogs yes but the balance of it is Tocchets usage of him IMO. - LordHumungous

Thought this 2nd trade was interesting
https://www.nhltraderumor...as-pettersson-ny-rangers/ - Reubenkincade
I'd do it. That Perrault looked pretty good in WJR and NYR may not want to wait that long for him - same reason I doubt they would give up Lafernierre as he's arrived. Mika is obviously risky if he bounces back and Petey has much more room to regain his spot as a top 5-10 forward but seems like a change is being forced. Decent return including Schneider too, need a guy like him desperately. I don't think they're going to make out like bandits in either a Pettersson or Miller trade with all the noise that's done a disservice to their bargaining position. |

Do we need Schneider? I mean itโs a nice luxury but not sure they have enough minutes for Hronek, Willy & Schneider. They need a high end #3 LHD |

It would put Hronek into his proper pecking order as a #5 defenseman

No more young stars tournaments for the Canucks. Agreed to do a multi year prospect thingy with Seattle. |

Then the future is pretty bleak. - TurdFergeson
Oh please, the kid is a star, but heโs not going to win anything on his own. The team needs to be way deeper than it is, beyond Miller, Hughes, Petey & Demko, and to a lesser extent Boeser, itโs a yard sale of NHL plugs. That defence is tragic. |

How does RT shoulder the blame or is partly responsible for Nils play on the ice?
Last night is a prime example, Nils loses his stick and then proceeds to knock down an opposing player without the puck, that is text book interference. If he can eliminate the stupid mental mistakes, and play like he has shown in the past, RT will reward him with more ice time and better players to play with. But he needs to do that consistently, and so far he hasn't so stop blaming the coaching staff for not gifting him opportunities he doesn't deserve. - claygolf83
You also have to be put in a position to succeed it can't be all on Hogs. After a 26 goal campaign last year he was primed to move up the lineup and play with better players. Sure a slow start didn't help but man even after injuries Tocchet still has him buried down the lineup and sometimes less than 7 mins TOI. I never said Hogs wasn't part of the problem but Tocchet has to take some responsibility for derailing his career somewhat. It's a give and take as well. The player will also become dis associated if constantly Tocchet doesn't use him properly. It's just sad we are probably going to lose another decent player to a trade that most likely could have been avoided by adding some minutes to his game and better line mates. My take anyways. Pettersson sucks this year and he's not buried on the 3rd and 4th lines? Food for thought. |
