Suppose Buffalo called and said will give you Cozens and Samuelson for Fox are we saying no? Idk if that would be enough but that’s a deal they should pursue. Then you can let Jones stay and run the PP, and shut his ass up lol

That deepens Buffalos defense and helps our left side. Our right side has more potential in it the the left and we get a bonafide center to build around

Nick Backstrom was a pretty damn good center, Kuznetsov still cared and was really good as well

A few years back, I played golf in Scottland and my caddy said he had caddied for him and in his life he had never seen a person more drunk on the course (kings Barn) and still manage to break 80. Thats is special

According to Friedman, the Rangers are allowing Jones to look for somewhere else to play.
Yet Miller still plays every game. Make it make sense.

Jones isn’t good. Period. End of story. Not saying Miller is playing well, but out of the 2 who am I keeping? Miller.

NYR2 said it best. We have a bunch of 5-6 guys. No matter who’s out there we’re gonna suck

The best course of action for Drury is let go of or trade everyone back there, with the exception of Schneider (who hasn’t been great either) and go FA crazy on D and graduate every winger possible next year, and trade Kreider. To me Zib would stay unless he asks out (which is possible). Only because we literally have no centers to replace him and I doubt anyone would trade for him

You're insane. Miller makes too many errors and has not developed into what Rangers need. He makes nearly $3.8M and is RFA after the season. His agent (Goodrow's agent) has stated he is going to seek a significant increase in pay for Miller.

There's just no was I am paying this guy any more than he making is now. I don't care if he has all the tools and goods to be a star...how long are we going to say that? He been here for five seasons.

Time to move on from him and try to re-coop draft assets in doing so.

I’ve said it all year that Fox gets a pass for some reason. He’s the 2nd highest paid player on the team. The PP sucks. He’s small. He’s not very fast.

There is no reason whatsoever he shouldn’t be on the table to trade just like anyone else. He has no clauses to hurdle over and he’d probably get the best return in assets. But before you know it that won’t be the case because he’s without a doubt slowing down

This isn’t some kind of I told you so either, it’s what’s best for the NY Rangers imo

- Slimtj100

Fox has gotten a pass bc this is his only "bad season." He has been elite for all the years prior. Had a rough PO last year. Fox Panarin Laf Igor are in a slump and on bad teams having a bad year. They will all be fine moving fwd.

Miller Zib Lindgren suck now and long term. They are who they are. Any player is on the table. Someone like Fox tho the return will never be good enough to replace him. Just like the nukcs moving EP40. Get fox a good pair player to elevate his game

My main reason for this trade is…I think by the time the rangers are contending again it’ll be too late for him to make a difference. This is gonna take 3-4 years to be contending again, by the looks of it.

I get what you’re saying about a partner but I think it’s more than that with him. He looks beat up already. His body language is not good out there. He plays waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much, but they have no choice

That’s where you are wrong though. There is no way Dolan signs up for a 3 or 4 year rebuild to contention. It’s gonna be Drury doing hard retool this summer on the pieces of core he is able to move. Fox helps this team win. He isn’t moving

Agreed. Think Drury really does his best to make this purely his team this offseason.

He isn’t helping them win tho lol he’s been here as long as anyone by now (since they were contenders)

I think Dolan may have to face reality. Drury may have to convince him. It’s not like they didn’t contend since the letter went out, so maybe he’ll understand. They were close, but not good enough

Its been the fastest fade from contention I can remember which is ultimately what I think Drury is currently dealing with

I’m just saying. You can hope they do this but it’s not happening. They didn’t give Igor a record extension to not contend for half of it. It’s been out there Drury is under the direction to do what it takes to win. Changing out the core is the best way to do this

Well I think it’ll backfire. I do think everything (with the core) is on the table right now in Drurys mind

Shesty will still be the man for awhile so it’s little different then a dman. Hank played well into his 30s

A few caveats there:
1) it's 4 on 3, so tons of space
2) He was checked in the back by Jamie Benn, which created space
3) Fox also has to watch the seam pass due to all the open room on the ice and the fact Dallas is on the PP

That said, he should have opened up and taken away the pass. But 1-3 shows why that also may not have happened.

- airjan23

Thank you Jan!!! He legit got crosschecked & Interfered with on the goal. Again TJ with the let’s find a reason to move Fox train. It’s not going to happen nor would it be a smart move. He hasn’t regressed but he’s asked to play a role he honestly shouldn’t be playing. When you’re short handed you need especially in overtime, 2 defensive defensemen. Fox is an offensive defenseman who plays a solid defensive game. This is where they miss a “physical”type guy like Trouba in front of the net. They need more of those type of players who can be signed for 4 million not 7.

He’s got one freakin goal lol

Last 3 years he had 11,12 and 17

The PP is 2 for the last 32 or something like that. How is that not regression? I know I know, it’s all Zibs fault

Again, he’s getting a pass. He makes more money then Zib does for crying out loud

And this opinion of mine not nearly based on one OT play, not in the slightest. Its not even defensively that has me saying this

The entire defense has looked bad this year. I’d say that’s more of a team thing than an individual thing. Miller will be fine, trading him now would be a mistake unless we got back a similar young dman for him.

Benn is a big, strong, nasty player. I don't fault Fox for getting knocked out of position on the OT winner. But, I do fault him for what he did next. Instead of fighting to get back in position and tie up Benn, who was the more dangerous threat, he positioned himself to play the pass across to the far side. The 2nd most dangerous play.
I only saw the hilights, but it seems like we can at least take some positives from this game, instead of the new usual, nothing but lessons.

Zib played well. He made up on his giveaway by saving a goal even (on the same play)

((TJ ducks))

And did anyone see Trouba knock hockey play that backfired? Imagine he did that here oooooofah

Opposite of KK.

Miller has been playing top 4 minutes and keeps making mistake after mistake. KK's problem was he played with Mika "The RW Black Hole" Zibanajead and then the third line with no PP minutes of significance. KK had probably some of the best puck possesion numbers on the team this year.

Regression is what zib is doing over the past 2 years. Same with lindgren. Zib bc of age and lindgren bc injuries

Fox is just having a bad season. Just like Igor, Laf and a lot of other rangers
