I appreciate the education and this is a fact I was not aware of. Thankfully, the hockey gods understood my heart was in the right place and did not punish the team for it.

While we are here, this is an opportunity to examine the record.

First, Sittler's record is one for the ages. I don't think anyone is going to break it. Lemieux or Gretzky never broke it and they were probably the most likely to do so in this lifetime.

Lemieux and Gretzky both scored 8 - more than once.

Nick (frank)ing Schmaltz scored 7 in 2022.

Sam Gagne got 8 in 2012. Before that, you gotta go back to 2008 when Daniel Alfredsson got 7. Jagr got 7 in 2003. That's it for the 21st century. You gotta go back to the last century before anyone else even came close. Even the great McDavid has only scored 6 - only halfway to besting that record.

But yeah, I will never speak loosely of it again. No need to tempt fate.
