Still watching it.

I dunno, not great so far.

I do like seeing the stats on their shots.

Watching real golf on tv is painful enough, I cant imagine what watching people hit into a screen is like. Ugh.

Although I do love Golden tee golf.

Yes please

Rasmus would be a great add, but very unlikely due to cost, not a priority and well the Tre/calgary relationship (which I believe is overblown).
I could see a depth D add and either a top 6 winger or 3C.

But we'll see. If injuries pile up on defense, they could very well make a top pick up.

They had one at Costco the other day for like $699. If my wife wasn’t with me I would’ve been bringing that baby home and dealing with the consequences later.

I've been thinking a lot about why it sucked.

Lots of reasons. The players treated it as a joke, the coverage was inconsistent, etc.

But I think the biggest problem was that it was boring. They had a few holes that they tried to make wild, but it ended up (at least from what I watched - I confess I didn't watch much) just like them playing a regular course.

Driver 300+ yards to middle of fairway. high iron or wedge to green.

They need to put these guys in situations I don't see when they play normal golf. Make them scramble like us poop high handicappers.

Have flaming volcanoes and shots you need to play by hitting it on the side of a cliff. Make it 95% golf, 5% putt-putt golf.

Some may say that will make it a joke, but FFS it couldn't be a bigger joke than last night.

I keep looking on Kijiji for a modern version of a cocktail table video game. One that is loaded with 1,000 games - and no cigarette burns!

I'm pretty old school, so I don't actually need a lot.

Games Wedgie needs:

- Tecmo Superbowl
- EA NHL 93 and 94
- Galaxian (not Galaga - yeah, deal with it)
- Pacman
- Ms. Pacman
- Qix
- Frogger
- Q*Bert
- Burgertime

Sadly, can't do any driver games or Tron due to controllers.

That's about all I would need - anything extra would be gravy.

I didn't hate it, but I don't think there is a chance in hell this lasts. It's gimmicky, the players didn't seem overly interested, comes off kinda like the LIV golf team aspect, where they seem to try to force that to become a thing. Golf is an individual sport, it'll be a HUGE task to change that mentality.

I agree with your idea to have them forced to do trick shots. Heck, bring in the disc golf concept of mandos, where you HAVE to go to the left/right of this tree. Force the players to shape shots. With the big screen following the flight of the ball, that might be interesting.

But, yeah. This is going to fail no matter what they do.

But seriously, DJ Khalid?!?!

Mitch Marner is a top 5 player in the NHL.

The only player in the top 10 in scoring who kills penalties.

Absolutely undeniably ELITE superstar player.

$14M x 8 would be a massive bargain.

Draisaitl starts 14 mil next season, he shouldnt get what LD got. he is a few notches below him. not to mention Nate and Auston

imo he should settle in around 12, so with the Toronto tax, it will probably be 13..just under AM..which feels right

I started off the year saying that the Leafs should give him a contract identical to Nylander's - not a penny more.

I no longer think that's realistic.

iv pretty much stuck to 13 is what he will get. hasnt really changed for me.
but he shouldn't be the highest paid player in the NHL.. wtf are we doing here.

also he is not top 5, these players are better
Mcdavid
Mackinnon
Matthews
Draisaitl
Makar
Barkov

so hes imo is 7-12 ..ish

I hope they don't extend him till after the playoffs, who knows what we get from him this year. If he goes off and we wind up having to pay extra, who cares. I would hate to give him 14x8 just to have another disappearing act in games 5-7.

Hopefully, no more between the leg passes directly to the other team for a shorthanded breakaway.

I feel the same. if he takes them on a real run...and I can actually feel proud of the team...for once..then whatever I guess.

but if he wants to be the top paid player in the entire (frank)ing league...he has to drag the team to something

If there ever was a year for the Leafs to actually do something in the playoffs, this is the one. Two tendies playing well. D is solid, and deep. Forwards have never really been a problem. They're still occasionally playing down to the level of their opponents, but eventually finding ways to win. Fewest blown leads in the entire league, HUGE change from the last few seasons.

The team is fairly well constructed, with only a few holes to fill come trade deadline time. Ideally, a 3C and a Dman is all we need to round out the team nicely.

it does feel like a more well balanced team. im not getting my hopes up again..just wait to see.

the thing is, they dont look real great by a lot of the fancy stuff..very mid ..10-15 ranges. Just the goalies...they are basically #1. which can get you far.

so im just passivley watching the reg season. cuz it really doesnt matter

Makar who is in the top 10 in points and does in fact PK you mean?

Marner is 55th in scoring goals in the league, top 10 in points.
Nylander is 4th in scoring goals in the league.

The inability to be happy about having both players on the Leafs is mind numbingly stupid but as they 'consider the source'.

That is the most frustrating thing, for the last half dozen seasons the regular season has just been a formality, they've never been at risk of missing the playoffs. Then, when they're out in the first two weeks...
