From what I’ve seen and heard there is not generational talent at the top but there are several potential elite players in the top 5-6. As well there are 1rst rnd grades on some 40 guys or so. We’ll see if the Flyers can find some building blocks. DB needs to hit this draft. - landros 2
here is a tidbit of info for you. The flyers and in particular Danny absolutely love hagens. This is going back well over a year ago. They envision him as the #1 center for a decade to build around.
yet these incompetent fools will not do what is needed to put themselves in a position to actually try to draft him. all you can do is laugh. |

The room ™️ was topnotch according to Torts at the post presser. They look tired (of life in general),😫 and the grinding style & message from Torts that is pumping constantly 24-7. Actually i believed the Torts balloon 🎈 would pop much earlier. - THE EVIL WITHIN
Torts suggested that the goaltending was good…and it was….but I ask this. When was the last time the Flyers won a game because of their goaltending? Has that happened “once” this year? |

Unfortunately, no matter the outcome, Briere wins. Say they do get a top 5 pick. Most people will just be excited for the pick, not caring about the incompetence that led to it. They get the pick and get to say, like Frank Sinatra, they did it their way. The Flyers will have the pick and the winning culture (that led to all those losses). The fact that their "culture" doesn't actually lead to wins will go right over their heads and alot of fans because they got to do it the Flyers way. - Flyers_01
What incompetence? Briere has basically done nothing acquire draft picks It isnt like hes going out and using assets to add players and they still suck.He is literally just letting things play out which isvwhat we need

Pretty sure Ersson stole a gane or two early in the season. Could probably argue the should have lost gane 1 vs van
Goaltending has been average or worse since Erssons first injury

Your last line is the key. Sell anyone at the tdl other than say mm and maybe Foerster. Get picks for this year and next. Once they get creamed tonight vs Anaheim that should be the focus. IMO, this was the best plan all along even had they been holding down a solid playoff spot. They’re nowhere near ready to hang with the big dogs yet. Also, free Emil. The team has regressed big time since his demotion. 3 5 1 in that span.
Maybe they did it to purposefully tank. Haha

In the past a Flyers team that stopped listening / responding to the head coach, they were able to just continue to play poorly and force pressure on the organization, by firing the coach (see: Craig Berube, Alain Vigneault, and others). The problem is the stars of the team are currently Tortorella and Gritty. |

9 regulation wins in 42 games is really, really bad. There is just no way to spin it. I expect extensions for players to be announced before the trade deadline. - Trox88

Poehlings hands are AHL level. A shame as he has a lot of positive attributes…but man a lot of plays die on his stick. - landros 2
had hope for him last season but he appears to be a serviceable 4th line center. His hands and this season his edge work have been an issue, that leads to lower hockey sense, seems not to make the passes and short circuits rushes. Having him with Tip and TK is just DUMB.
Candidly you can move him, move him.

How do you know that? The Flyers are up to picking 6th currently, and once they make some deadline deals they will be picking in the top 5 for sure. Will they have the assets to move up to the second pick, which is where Hagens is projected to go? Not sure. But the Flyers should be in good position to get a top center in this draft. And with Luchanko coming in next year, and maybe the player they select also being ready, Bonk coming up, plus Michkov with a year under his belt. You can start to see a new, young and exciting core developing. It's not all doom and gloom folks. |

Maybe next presser someone that isn’t afraid would bring this up to the coGM or the PRoho. The spin would be entertaining.
I’ve said it before but why have Danny in the coGM role? An AI would do the job he is doing. He will only do something when prompted. I don’t see his mark on this team at all. |

The Flyers aren’t going to finish picking 6th. Tortorella will get them playing solid turtle hockey again just you wait.

Attendance: 17,941 according to ESPN. They won some time with the Torts experiment & selling the gold standard culture & room crap. And many fans obviously buys that spam. But this team has been terrible to watch since Hakstol. The AV Covid season was a little light in the tunnel. |

Torts explained that the only reason he tried Poehling on that line is to inject some speed into the line. In other words, Couts is painstakingly slow and can't keep up with Tips and TK. But you can see that even with his speed, Poehling has very poor offensive IQ and does not make the right plays at the right times. But this is the fact of what the Flyers have at center, which I would say is the worst in the league. And I love Cates and think he is going to be a really good 3rd line center, but that's about it. Going into next year my hope is you have whomever the Flyers draft this year plus Luchanko as the top 2 centers, and then Cates and Couts to round it out. That will be at least worth watching. |

They put this team together. The incompetence is saying that you want to stay out of the bottom and compete because they don't want to get stuck there. Then have the team be where they are now. Instead of trying to compete, realize accurately where your team is and move assets to guarantee as best you can to get that top player. They refuse to do so. That's the incompetence. The inability to accurately assess the team and make the correct corresponding moves that are neccessary.

You more than anyone should know you take what a GM says with a grain of salt, and instead you focus on their actions. Yes Briere is not going to admit they are tanking but like I said, they are picking 6th currently and with this goaltending, it is only going to improve their draft position. The Flyers don't need to pick number 1 to get a very good player from this draft, but they do need to pick around 5 since they can select a player there are maybe move up 1 or 2 spots since they have the assets. |

Add to that they have long term money on guys I am not sure even should be part of a rebuild.
Tippett should be moved if you got a good deal. Laughton should be moved. Risto if you have a good deal. Hathaway should not have be resigned as he could have been a good TDL piece.
The team just has not direction and the "plan" is bits and pieces of different plans that make for a cluster (frank) plan
