Just because the Flyers keep Cates does not mean the Flyers are unwilling to move young players. For example, I think Frost and Farabee are two young players the Flyers could move on from. Zamula is another. Briere has stated all cards are on the table and he will listen to every offer, and other GMs around the league have confirmed this.

The other day during the conversation concerning whether Briere and company are going to operate the same way as past regimes. To paraphrase you stated that Briere has resisted making moves for now. When in reality, Briere has been aggressively looking for moves since he became the GM. Your comments here contradict your previous comments that Briere is holding his hand and resisting making moves for now.

Loved Tort's comments in his post game about Frost. When asked about Frost scoring goals in 3 straight games Torts replied when you mention Frost all I think about is that bad turnover near the end of the game

To me, yes, it was a ridiculous turnover by Frost, a between the legs pass right to the high crease area? What the hell was he thinking? However on the positive side, Frost is getting to the dirty areas of the ice a lot more, winning more offensive zone faceoffs, and with the Flyers apparently emphasizing getting more pucks to the net Frost is starting to clean up. I hope it continues for him and the team.

I don't know the full comments but it's not surprising if Tortorella was unwilling to credit Frost. Like I said previously. Listening to Tortorella's press conferences are a waste of time.

As for Frost, he is putting up points better but his all around game, his play away from the puck has been subpar all year compared to last year. Attempting a play like that in that time, place and score is simply not smart.

Your lust for Torts, Danny and Jonesy is great theater. Add in your ridiculous takes and it’s hard not to point out the village fool.

What is wrong with you? All I did was state facts. The facts are it's a GMs job to listen to every offer and see if something makes sense for the LONG TERM success of their team. And it's also true that Briere has not bit on any offer that would provide a short term boost, which BTW is the sin of past regimes, and not contribute to the long term success of his team. So what is your problem? Just another sad and not well thought criticism from you. Things are just not going well for you these days.

Love it. Should be back in the mid teens by next week. Maybe throw in a loser point or two on the road, and we got some more playoff bubble action baby.
- StepfordSam

it was a nice big win. need to accumulate those points. finishing the 2nd half of the season strong is how you build a winning culture and atmosphere.

hardest working CO-GM in the game. I mean I dare you try to come up with another executive who works the phones and fax machines like Danny.

moving on from those 2 is very similar to others who have been moved. the coach/CO-GM wants them gone. easy decisions.

Flyers beat a door mat with Cutter Gauthier and it's page after page of comments. Flyers beat the defending Stanley Cup champs and it's crickets.

Not that this is that hard of a thing to do, but Cates has been the Flyers best center this year. He is definitely a keeper.

There is nothing wrong with me. You however are all over the place. The reality is that Briere is desperately looking for center help and has been for a while now. He hasn't bit on an offer because they haven't found one they like yet. They're desperate for it.

realistically what "young" players (or any player) would other teams really want? then after you compile that list ask yourself the likely unrealistic price Danny has set for said player. then ask yourself does he really want to trade them?

the 3 stooges love this team and roster.

He's been their best center the last month or so, not all season.

That's funny, I've never in my entire posting history offered a coaching credential or even implied that I was a coach. I'm here every day and I welcome any challenge you may offer to my positions. It's not something I need to be concerned about. You won't though. The above is all you got.

Cates will be 26 soon in a contract year. The Flyers should be very cautious in extending him and at what cost. If Briere ultimately extends Laughton also, I'm starting to begin to wonder what available top 9 slots are left. I just hesitate committing long term to a roster that has won absolutely nothing for years. Briere seems committed to doing that and we'll see if it that course changes.

I said before I see easily a 5 year 3.5 per deal for Cates. Now that he has continued to play well and produce who knows. I fully expect it by the EOM.

wonder if NJ would have any interest in Cates or Frost. They can use a 3rd line center. mind you a deal is unlikely.

Three centers producing right now and your goalie is making saves. PP has also produced the last few games. Fun to watch. Do not think any of those three components will last much longer.

Helluva goal by Cates last night.

I like Cates as a player but right now might be a good time to listen to some offers.

Last 3 games frost look great if he plays like that i can handle his dumb moments

So far this season i have been proven right if he is not scoring he is useless

Proving i was right and your stats ment absolutely nothing, very different in watching the games then looking at a spreadsheet

I was complementary during the game last night, so once again, you're the fool. I compliment when something is done well. However, I am not going to compliment when I see more of the same (last decade +).

You lust to be the middle man in the triumvirate. As corduroy said: if Danny told you to eat sh&t you would lap it up w a smile.
