Same flawed logic why teams are more patient with top prospects. A top 10 pick will get numerous chances whereas a mid-round pick quickly gets buried. You can say it's flawed, but that's how the game works.

IF Colorado can land Brock Nelson….thats the only way Casey is available and possibly moved.

Exactly, this team is judged on how far they go. The GM isn’t saving face on his own trade, if he can get a bigger fish by including middelssdat he’s going to.
