I couid see Mancini then. I just find it hard to believe the Rangers would part with Schneider in a trade for Miller
Mancini is RH, a big dude and held his own early in the season until they sent him back down - Slimtj100

You must mean trade, because...
Lankinen
Sprong
DeBrusk
Heinan
Desharnais
Sherwood
Forbort
Patera
They were all acquired through free agency - NewYorkNuck
Yup lots of additions but unlike you apathetic types don’t know that the team was positioning to make further trades in season by accruing cap space. |

I guess the Canucks will make the problem child trade when they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. - Marwood

Thanks Yorky. Small point. You misspelled Sabres. It's not Sabers. My Grandparents drilled this into my head growing up as they were season ticket holders.
That game completely sucked. Looked like everyone was either sick or hungover from the Dice and Ice event. They play like that tomorrow and they'll get done dry by the Oilers and Coaching staff...literally. |

Shit runs downhill and it starts with Aquilini at the top, the whole organization is a cluster f**k of stupidity. - Pacificgem
Winning solves everything. Tocchet is not part of the full problem here. It's roster movement and players attitudes this year for sure. You don't go from Jack Adams award and a 109 point season and run this all on Tocchet. He's nowhere near the biggest issue. |

Ek gets what he pays for
Sickness. Apathy. Hungover. Trade rumors getting to the team. Or just what this year has been like. Something is off with them all. |

It's the right move keeping Pettersson. Youth over Millers age is the smart way to go. Petey looked fine without Miller in the lineup before. |

For sure. The chemistry just isn't there and the give a f uck factor likes to show up late, if at all. That was just a weird game last night. Buffalo is not a good team but it looked like we just wanted to hang on and ride it out after the 2nd goal.
Also, way too much dump and chase. It's meant for line changes, not as a staple to gain the offensive zone. To me, it's a desperate strategy to give up possession and hope a tired forecheck can dig it out and create offense. As a byproduct it also kills any chance of creating offense off the rush. That lies directly on Coaching. |

The river hockey I thought Tocchet wanted to avoid. Last night was another disgrace.

I am thinking Utah might be a team looking to make a splash, as they climb up closer to the wildcard chase.

Canucks won’t trade with the rangers until that idiot Drury is fired - CanuckDon
I heard (sat radio) it fell apart as NYR asked Van to retain some amount of Miller's salary. If that's indeed the case, glad Alvin declined as we're already paying enough for players to play on other teams.
I can't blame Drury for trying though. I mean despite anyone's feelings about how good of a player Miller is, there's no doubt there's some kind of drama or why would they ever have been shopping him a year after last year's unexpected run ... 2 years after giving him an NTC. Alvin will never be bargaining from a position of strength here no matter the quality of player. Every GM is going to approach as we'll take your problem off your hands, but we want this and this too. |

Only way to hold on Miller is if the return is massive. Maybe about a 0.0000001% chance of happening. |

I would settle for Perreault or Lafreniere and not much else tbh. Maybe Lindgren to try and shore up D, but the D is probably a lost cause this year anyway. The team will only get worse once this trade is made ... from lost face-offs alone. |

Yes and you also just know if a team got him with some retention from Van, that team is 100% winning the cup ala OEL. Stanley loves to rub it in our nose like no other. |

For sure, it does. My frustration is they can never fully sustain anything positive they build on. Ever!! Like you said, last year was one of the better years in team history, with the same core pretty much, but then they roll out this BS. |

There's a long ways to go before we can declare that, but he hasn't gotten off to a good start, that's for sure!! If he continues to put up pedestrian numbers offensively, which I don't think he will, then yes, it's not good.
But currently guys like Doughty and Erik Karlsson have pretty bad deals. Just to name a few. At least the Penguins got SJ to eat some of Karlsson's.
