What's Phil The Thrill doing now? Did he officially retire?

He would be a cheap addition. If the Leafs must have a pylon on their roster (Reaves), then why not get a pylon who can chip in a goal or two?

Shoot Reaves into the Sun and replace him Phil The Thrill.

To his credit it is their own 3rd so it will be basically a 2nd from a top 5 team.

He essentially traded Hall and retained around 2.5M in actual dollars to move up around 40-50 draft selections assuming they could have brokered and received a 4th rounder.

I mean the pick is still around 65-70.

This is from some research posted on the Athletic about 5 years ago (https://www.nytimes.com/a...ue-value-of-a-draft-pick/ for the full article).

I know he's not having a great year - and really hasn't been that great in a few years and really, really hasn't been good in about 8 years - but I still think at the TDL Hall fetches a 2nd from an edge team - so you end up picking around 50. They probably could've gotten a 4th from Colorado just for the retention alone based on previous trades, so you're probably looking at that one being around 110 . . . so I think they could have maximized their value by not putting Hall into the deal.

Either way it doesn't really matter, but . . . Davidson is a little questionable.

Dewar on IR. Greb called up.

Man I have tried hard to like Dewar but I just don't know. I like that he can play C but I just feel there is better out there this TDL and could be a cap casualty.

Leafs seems to have a hard time getting scoring from their 4th line. Doesn't seem to matter the coach or system. Guys come in that have resumes of 8-14 goals or something and when here get 2-5.

Well if I am them I am saving that retention slot to use on both Murphy and Jones.

They bought into a complete teardown...So you go all in on it. Their team is still awful and keeping those 2 when they can trade them and retain half is just stupid.

Well Kampf has scored at an ok rate this year. Lorentz has been good.

Reaves and Dewar have like 5 assists combined.

Need to find an upgrade on the both of them.

Leafs usually play their top-six more than most so it could possibly be just be less opportunity for the 4th line. Also, their top-six gets paid more than most so less money for quality lower in the lineup.

Kampf has scored 3 goals in 36 games. How does that qualify as scoring at an okay rate. 🤔

Gonna go out on a limb and guess the amount of players around the league who are paid less than 2.4 million and have more than 3 goals is very long.

Kampf is a (frank)ing pylon, especially at that price.

The Leafs have such limited space for depth players and they wasted so much of it on guys like this and Reaves.
