They aren’t even a balance sheet.
The flyers are a line item to Cumcast.
A blip - Stayin alive
To further this point a little…
Cumcast just payed out over a billion dollars in dividends a few days ago. The flyers are essentially an advertising cost with some potential for profit.
A feather in the cap if you will.
A meeting place for business and pleasure if you will. A glorified event show to entertain for real business.
The flyers are like when Michael went to Vegas on business and fredo had the girls in a room to entertain. That’s the flyers. Easily brushed off by Cumcast just like Michael did |

Sometimes doing nothing is the best thing.
Time will fix this team, while do8ng that keep collecting picks and prospects
In 4 years we should be a very intriguing team - SlNlSTER
So you believe the Flyers goaltending situation will be solved internally? Fair enough, I understand the thought process, but in the history of the franchise how many franchise goalies have the Flyers drafted and developed? Hextall, Lindbergh, Bob (better after he left), and possibly Hart could have been. That's a whole lot of organizational history not supporting that theory. I hope you are right.

Would have been nice but he didnt want to be here. Doesnt appear to be a C in ANH so doesnt really change all that much. We just have a better winger to go with Michkov

Well i agree with your thinking
And reason to worry.
I just think eventually 1 of the young kids will stand out
And if we keep drafting 1 every year in the 2nd or 3rd we eventually hit if we haven't already.

No you don't, there is more ways to rebuilding then firesale and tanking.
Do you really think michkov wants to be deadliest for a few years I highly doubt it - SlNlSTER
Ummmm yes you do have to tear it down first. This is the ONLY way in today’s nhl.
There no longer is realistic chance to help get elite talent (or enough of it) through free agency or trade. The only realistic way to get a lot of elite and high end talent to truly contend is to draft most of it. That’s pretty well accepted at this point.
So yes you have o teardown before you can truly rebuild. I’m not saying trade every piece you have but that is step 1.
The flyers will never get that… therefore we won’t be seeing a cup from them. |

Does Briere not touch the goaltending heading into next season. Bjarnssen is going to be at least a 1A at LV. Not going to tank by not trading forwards or dmen on the roster, but allow crap goaltending another season. I don't see this setup next season. - Trox88
Nah Id leave it. Im good with moving on from Fedotov but Id like to run Ersson and Kolosov for now. See how they develop. Bjarnssen and the other Russian guys seem promising. I dont see any rush to get a better G

Cutter has high end talent. Maybe not elite for sure but you need BOTH elite AND high end talent. And yes cutter will be a winger but that’s a huge piece philly had under their control and they pissed it away.

Respect the thought process. My concern is I think Briere is falling in love with how good his prospects will become. To me, that is dangerous. Heck, he already is in love apparently with everyone on the roster. Seems like extensions again for everyone this summer. Moving Frost is not enough this summer. |

Rebuilding and completely tanking is 2 very different things.
And completely tanking doesn't always work.
You obviously don't understand the difference between them both - SlNlSTER
Call it tanking if you will. Moving assets that don’t fit a timeline whether it’s in teardown mode or some other stage of rebuild or build is simply put…. Smart. And is the way to build a cup contender. |

Maybe, but I don’t have much confidence in the Flyers doing it. Isn’t that what they’ve been doing for the last 10 years?
Do you really think michkov wants to be deadliest for a few years I highly doubt it
Not sure what that has to do with anything. |

Problem is we are already one of the younger teams in the nhl, and you can find elite talent throughout 1st rd( yes top of the draft makes your odds a lot higher of hitting)
But if think we 1 center and and goalie away from being very competitive
Ask Buffalo, coyotes, ducks, hawks how's it working |

There’s probably 10 or more players they should move at tdl or draft. They might make a token 1 trade to give appearance they are trying. And probably extend 3 or more they should’ve traded. Briere blows. |

They aren’t one of the younger teams. Not truly anyways. They also are one of the oldest with term to over 30 year old players. Or almost 30. You get an established 1c and a goalie and you might make playoffs with this roster. poop you MIGHT even win a round. But cup? Not even close.
Is that the end goal for you? Is that what you want?
What elite talent does philly have? Mm.
What high end talent? Maybe tk? Is tk even high end? Or just a really good player?
That’s not even close to enough to be thinking just a piece or 2 away.
Oh and those teams you listed? Really? I’d gladly trade Philly roster with any of those and it’s not even close |

Yes because the actions of someone who wants to play with us is to demand a trade and ghost the team because you dont your way initially. Didnt even try to work things out with the team

Not truely one of the younger teams?
Michkov - 20
Drysdale - 22
Foerster - 23
Brink - 23
York - 24
Zamula - 24
Farabee - 24
Tippett - 25
Cates - 25
Poehling - 25
Frost - 25
Ersson - 25
12 players 25 and under. Just 6 players Over 30 one of them being EJ whos not even really a roster player. Hes played just 15 games. Andrae has played moire games than EJ

How many seasons of NHL experience do those “young” players have?
That is a list of what one would call nothing special. Other teams must be planning how to counter all that talent. |
