I really thought Tony DeAngelo would never be back in the NHL or play professional sports again, I would like a little explanation here because I have lost respect for the decision makers on this team.

He was in the KHL so that’s a pro hockey league.
Isles lost Dobson so we need a puck moving Dman and he’s a cheap able body and cheap.

Does the League office ever look at those slewfoots and issue any kind of discipline?

What’s your thoughts on the Tony D signing?
- nyisles7

I think it is good low risk high reward signing. I think he will bring toughness and skill that is much needed on the back end. I am not expecting a 3, 5, or 7 year deal after this as I am aware of his behavior issues.

For now, it is what the team needs.

What other lower risk options exist? Who is going to fill this role without having to payout more than just money?

I read comments from the AVS GM regarding the trade. It was a trade he did not want to make but had to make because he felt they were not going to be able to meet Mikko's needs. Tough move but a smart moved.

Tony DeAngelo Clears NHL Waivers; Officially Joins Islanders.

Found it.

The Islanders do have to make one roster transaction to become cap-compliant by 5 PM ET.

Because DeAngelo is on the roster, the Islanders can waive anyone since that process takes 24 hours. They must either send down a player who is waiver-exempt (Marc Gatcomb is the likely option) or place Dobson on long-term injured reserve.

Per @PuckPedia, #Isles  have placed Noah Dobson on LTIR.

They are now cap compliant with Tony DeAngelo on the books.

I think Romanov should handle all the Shannon interviews for the rest of the season.
