The NHL is a professional sports organization not a world political stage. I recognize what Russia as a country has done, but unless it's citizenry are the ones in charge of these actions, holding them accountable is its own crime.

This tournament is kind of a joke.

Did you like the World Cup of Hockey in 2016? I did. I wasn't as invested as I typically am for the Olympics - and as alluded to above, having all of the nations represented makes it a better tournament. There's really no reason they couldn't have had Russia playing here.

For the record I'm looking forward to the games. It'll be good hockey.

I was, but aside from all the previously mentioned reasons, it was the world cup. It's a tournament with a background and history. Some pedigree there.

This doesn't feel like that, it just feels like a few pointless games and a really poor attempt at checking the best on best boxes so the nhl can make up for the Olympics.

It’s hockey. Our favourite sport. Best on best. The players want to play (except Pietrangelo).

Way too many people have a poopty attitude towards good things. You can join Billy and spend all day on Hockeybuzz argueing with Nazi’s if that’s what you prefer. But for the rest of us, it’s hockey. It’s bragging rights. It’s a tuneup tourney for the Olympics.
