He was willing to take less than market value to stay in Colorado. Let's see how he feels about the Canes, especially given that Free Agency looms and the cap is raising noticeably.

Since the trade they have lost to the Bruins 3-1, beat the Rangers 5-4 - despite being outshot in the game 37-22, and lost to the Islanders 5-2.

I think the Avs are reeling since the trade - but it may not be that bad. Their next games are mostly against weaker competition:

We really cant afford to torch a year, i know morgan hasnt been great this year or really last....but hes been decent in the playoffs
