Sure.
To me that really wasn't a hard move. This year they should have moved Hathway at the TDL but instead they resigned him.
Laughton should have been moved.
They should really look at moving Tippett as he is overvalued.
And really, they should be bold and move Konecny before his extension kicks in.

Chicago Blackhawks
Biggest need: Create more NHL roster spots
The Blackhawks cleared one roster spot by trading Taylor Hall on Friday. GM Kyle Davidson will likely still want to open up a spot or two more. The Blackhawks are expected to have at least three prospects — Ryan Greene, Oliver Moore and Sam Rinzel — sign after their college seasons and jump to the NHL immediately while burning the first year of their contracts. Davidson will want to ensure ice time for them with roster openings, and the easiest way to do that is to trade away expiring contracts. Ryan Donato is probably the most likely to be dealt next. — Scott Powers
This should have been the Flyers plan all along. I mean what does Chicago know about building Cup winning teams in a cap era?

Philadelphia Flyers
Biggest need: A center
That the Flyers need a center has been evident for some time. Whether they attempt to deal for one before the deadline or wait until the offseason (or later) is difficult to predict. As for the deadline overall, the Flyers don’t have any pending unrestricted free agents, so it could be fairly quiet. The players they do have who have been mentioned in trade speculation — Rasmus Ristolainen and Scott Laughton — both have term left on their deals so they aren’t locks to be moved, either, particularly if the team gets back into the playoff race. Still, the Flyers selling off a piece or two remains the likeliest outcome. — Kevin Kurz |

Who do the Flyers have that they really need to create a roster spot for at this time? Andrea is all I see, talking prospects not AHL vets. They really have no forwards who are remotely close to NHL level. How pathetic is that seeing the shape the team has put themselves in over the years.
Now don't get me wrong several guys should have been dealt and should still be dealt.
What oiece or 2 they sell off will interesting to see unfold. |

There is zero excuse to not have 1 forward from the AHL not ready to claim a spot. None even on the radar if we are being honest.
Yet some sing the praise of Flahr and last 2 GM's. |

It's not just that. They should have had flexibility to maneuver. I know you guys hate it but MJL is right in this aspect. They are rebuilding team with no maneuverability.
Like Hathaway. Why did he need to be resigned. He would have been the perfect TDL piece for playoff teams. They love acquiring those types of guys for a playoff push.
Laughton. Why do I need Laughton when I have a younger version in Cates. And don't give me the leadership stuff. If you move a leader type player guess what happens, It allows maybe someone else to step into that role. Say Cates.
Farabee/Tippett - two wingers signed long term. Do I need both? I actually prefer Farabee to Tippett who I think is way overvalued.
Konecny - I get he is a good player a people love him. He could have also been a huge trade chip to maybe get you a young center and assit with a rebuild along with your 3 1st this year. Also you wouldn't have had to tie up big money leaving you some flexibility.
They just created this team where they have no manueverability or flexibility.

Farabee is signed to a very friendly contract with no clauses i believe. I am sure he can be moved if DB has the guts. |

He could.
I actually like Farabee's game over Tippetts. Farabee can give me more then Tippett. If Tippett is not scoring what does he bring?

But, but, but you are totally wrong. It’s all about the 15th, 25th and 30th overall pick this year. It’s the 2025 draft that really matters |

What does Faarbee bring? Seem like a run of the mill NHL player with no standout attributes. |

He can play PK, PP, can play up and down the lineup. I just like his skill set better.
Also he is signed at 5mil.
You can like Tippett better. Based off his age and contract. If i had to pick one I am taking Farabee over Tippett.

Not a fan of Tippet, though at least Tippet has one above average quality.
Farabee has been less than impressive for a long while now. |

very curious to see Tippett in his prime, the shot and skating give him a shot at taking a nice step foward, his hockey IQ needs to get better for that to happen.

What do you mean? They were thin on D at the time of the trade. They could have easily kept him as their own rental. They keep him and chances are the team wins another game or 2 and makes the playoffs. Flyers could have easily just kept him. There was talks of re-signing but thats likely due to lack of offers. Flyers had to take RyJo to get the 1st, they dont do that unless there isnt anything else on the table. COL deal came in pretty late as well
