Not sure about that, plus they already called up Mailloux. He has been with the team all season long. I expect him to start in Laval once ready.

there's a big chance Reinbacher would look more solid defensively than Mailloux, despite missing all that time. but it would be logical if he played a game or two in Laval before, I agree.

I just hope they dont rush him because of the injuries. He will need more time in Laval to get in game shape only. Mailloux has a lot more time with the pros and I read some good things about him recently.

oh I wouldn't want to rush him either, but imo Reinbacher could very well adapt quickly kinda like Hutson did, as opposed to Mailloux who's learning curve seems to be taking more time. but hey if Mailloux plays tonight and looks great I won't be complaining lol.

Hutson is a different player and a bit special. He showed signs who slowing down as well with the last few games, but I guess you could say the same thing about the whole team.

yeah I wasn't comparing Reinbacher and Hutson's style of play, just saying that both could have a quicker learning curve than Mailloux, that's all.

In fairness, he has never played this many games in a season.

A lot of those University guys tend to hit a wall in the second half of their rookie season (NHL or AHL).

this is true, although it might be perceived a bit bigger than it actually is... as St.Louis pointed out they don't play as many games in the NCAA but they do practice a whole lot more, so they don't necessarily get a ton more rest either.

Yes and I would argue St-Louis overplayed him at times. I still think we should not see Reinbacher before 2025-2026 but he might get a game or two in the nhl if the Habs are out of a playoffs spot by the end of the season. Thats how both Hutson and Mailloux started in the NHL.

I never said they were the same thing, but practice drills usually do get pretty intense, so it isn't like he's resting the whole time between games.
