Still think they need a guy that can play 10 minutes on the 4th line and get back to rotating 4 lines all night.

Consistency vs double shifting/rotating guys because you do not want Pezz on the ice for more than 5 minutes. Either that, or play Pezz 10 minutes and live with it, roll 4 lines.

Not (frank)ing rocket science.

Gonna be happy when Heineman is back.

yeah, same here, although I have a hard time believing his absence is the main reason everything fell apart, it's as though everyone stopped paying attention to details at the same time, wtf.

I do not think iti s him, per se, but when he was in the lineup, everyone ones had a specific role and every line had a specific role. All 4 lines played decent minutes and (for the most part) got their job done.

When they keep mixing up wingers to throw on a different line line every few shifts (to compensate for Pezz playing 5 minutes), that synchronicity gets all mixed up.

Don't think the Habs are good enough / deep enough to (frank) around with that kinda stuff right now.

Just how I see it.

Or, maybe they just suck, as a team.

I agree with what you're saying, but at the same time it sucks if guys can't bring it up a notch when a bottom 6 player is hurt, it shouldn't be that hard to replace.

it surely has to do with their confidence being rather fragile, it's easy for a young team like that to lose their swag.

I just do not get why they do not find a guy in Laval and stick him in Heineman's place for the 10 mins or so a game. Or (heaven forbid) Pezz for 10 minutes.

Now if they came back and said they did not want to (frank) around with the Laval team, that is more than likely going to make the playoffs, and wanted that team to be together and win... that would be another thing,

But when your NHL club was on a heater and looking at perhaps a playoff spot, that idea should go out the window.

I think the moment has passed, anyways.

Too many losses in a row now.

makes you crazy when they dont do the simple stuff, just like at the begining of the year when they kept Matheson on the first pp in front of Hutson

the Rocket are doing really well (at the top of the standings I think) so temporary call-ups should not be an issue... playoff hopes have quickly gotten very slim for the habs, I agree, it would take something like a 10 game winning streak combined with the other teams in front of them losing consistently if they wanted to seriously be part of the infamous "mix" again.

now we can safely trade Armia and Savard

Evans Stays if he asking for 3, more than that trade him

meh, Hutson is still very young, especially for a dman, not giving him the 1st wave earlier wasn't completely illogical either...

if he's asking for 3.5, (frank) that, just pay the man, the cap is significantly going up anyway.

I think that was deserved though.

Hutson got 2nd PP time and was his first year playing. Give him some time to get up to speed. We all knew after a few games he was going to move to the 1st PP eventually.

That decision made sense to me.

Still lots of new cap space to also sign Rantanen.

a bit steep, but I think I'd rather overpay than trade him for barely anything in return, the habs would be way too thin at center without him, especially considering Dach is barely a 2nd line center at the moment.

That is the kind of move the Rangers did with Panarin, at about the same time in their rebuild.

HuGo better already have his agent's number on speed dial #1.

Demidov plays center.

Drouin is his role model.

Everything will be fine.

Also, Evans.

I find he's become a scapegoat for the wrong reasons, he's brought way more to the habs than hurt them since he's been in MTL imho.

I agree.

this reminds me of how people needed someone to poop on and they picked Petry.

Matheson is what he is, we know what he is, and at his age, he is never going to become Makar (or inset whomever they want him to be <>).

He is fine.

exactly, but when you're on a top pairing in MTL, fans unfortunately don't give a poop, the expectations will still be there no matter what.

Hey man, he got what was already agreed to two months ago. Except when all of a sudden it was about banking for a few hours. Or Norad or NATO or grain.
