Pierre Lebrun did not bring a specific number, but said that terms would be the sticking point and that was 2 weeks ago. I dont think the debate will be about 3,5 or 4M a year but how many years mtl is willing to go with a deal with Evans. Knowing that Beck and Hague are coming up at some point.

huh, I was under the assumption that the cap hit could be more of an issue than the number of years for Evans, but with the cap going up the salary becomes more digestible I guess.

I think you need to add at least a million to Evans cause we are getting nearer and nearer to the trade deadline and multiple teams are interested in Evans.

Anyway, hopefully they can get something done, but you never know how these things can go.

yeah, I'm fairly certain Hughes will get it done. I'd be surprised if Evans gets traded but if he does then it'll be because Hughes has other plans for the team's centers, relying on Beck or Hage would be too soon at this point imho.
