somehow i think i got hooked on the vocal melodies when i was young so i might gravitate toward that kind of thing. my first record was billy joel's 52nd street so it was more singing along i guess than getting hooked on piano rock or whatever.

one band I remember enjoying the vocals very much was Mars Volta, it isn't a band I immediately adopted but after a few listens I found them highly original and talented.

My point was that whats he is doing right now in Laval does not matter all that much

Anyway, he was a 7th round pick in the end, no big deal. Mtl has better prospects coming up between the pipes

it's funny because by the time i was older i was listening to pavement and superchunk and both vocalists are.. how you say.. not usual vocalists.

yeah I disagree, you gotta start somewhere, and being a good goalie in the AHL isn't necessarily a walk in the park either. it's a step in the right direction.

the season isn't gone or lost either way, every team plays 82 games, and the habs weren't expected to make the playoffs this year, unless maybe for people with unreasonably high expectations lol... kids will continue developing, and games can still be entertaining to watch, to each his own I guess.

for me it's more about coming back closer to how they were playing 2 weeks ago, unless an exciting trade occurs that brings in an elite talent, which I sort of doubt will happen.

yes they were playing very well, but they were outworking their opponents with a really good and relentless forechecking. they do not anymore, and I don't see them doing it again going forward. they cannot rely on talent alone to win in this league, they're simply not good enough to do so.
now if Dach and Laine would wake the (frank) up... that could change things a bit. are you ready to bet on that? I'm not.

I don't see why they couldn't get back some of that swag they had not so long ago... they might not go on a 10-game winning streak again but they sure can improve their level of effort and attention to detail, generally speaking.

Dach and Laine are different situations but I feel there's a lot of similarities between both, in the sense that it seems the issue is mainly between the ears... with the right mindset one or both could improve their game before the end of the season, but I agree there are definitely no guarantees.

They did make a trade for Carrier during the season, they might bring a forward in a trade before the TDL, but yeah, it probably wont be for a guy like Rantanen. But just like Carrier made the team better, they could add a guy upfront to make the team better, not only for this season, but for ongoing ones.

But like Fido said, playing Beck instead of Pezzeta in the line up is a good start.
