It's not only a lack of hockey knowledge. It's a lack of reading comprehension and common sense. Are there only 10 games left in the season? LOL.
Your last statement is not correct. They're not in the playoff hunt as I just simply and plainly pointed out to you. You can't understand it. They have a 7% chance of making the playoffs - MJL
What will the playoff odds be if the Flyers go on a 7-3 run? |

Doesn't matter. They have to play at a .600 points percentage or better just to have a chance. Not over 10 games but over 30 games. This is more evidence of the fantasy world you live in. Even when something is explained to you in clear language, you can't comprehend it.

So the answer is you don't know. The other thing you are don't understand is how the other teams around them perform. I agree the Flyers have a low chance of making the playoffs, I am not arguing that. All I am saying is if the Flyers go on a run their chances improve significantly, which is easily correct. |

Regarding the letter, I have zero doubt management truly believes they are building a contender and doing it the right way. Like George Costanza says, it’s not a lie if you believe it.
Which makes it all the more entertaining or frightening depending on what you want to get out of this. They believe they are on the path, and Hilferty in particular is very amusing as he brought a corporate zero accountability triumvirate structure and applying it to hockey. - StepfordSam
That letter might have been the first big PR misstep from this group. Backlash must have been pretty bad that they sent out their two mouthpieces on the same day to say the rebuild will be over in 18 months. |

Yep, clearly I don't understand. It's just fiction that they have a 7% chance if making the playoffs. Maybe they need to use your method. Things would look so much better. Tortorella would be the hands down favorite for the Jack Adams.
No, you've been saying the Flyera are in the playoff race. They arent

I don’t think Danny is all that bright. However, you can't be this dumb to see you need a new PP coach.
Either he is incompetent or doesn’t have the authority to make a change. I do not see any other possibility.
So based on what you said it is incompetence.
There is no way he can fire Torts without the buy in from Jones and Hilf. |

So now I will embarrass you. Right now the Flyers are projected to finish with 83 points, and that gives them a 7% chance of making the playoffs. If they improve this by only 2 points to 85 points, they double their playoff odds to 14%. If they improve further to project to 90 points, they improve their odds to 47% which by definition is a playoff bubble team. If the Flyers go on a 7-3 run they would then project to finish with 88 points, which gives them a 33% playoff chance. So Suck on that! |

Well that's a different conversation, personally most gm only get to bring there own guy in once and I like to think danny is waiting to pull out the ace on his sleeve or he is incompetent |

This stems from a stupid notion that Torts runs the entire organization and DB is just his puppet. And people say I live in fantasy land. |

Anthony DiMarco and Anthony SanFilippo in two separate articles on the same day mentioned an 18 month timeline. SanFilippo article was about the ticket increases and DiMarco was about the deadline.
Not a coincidence that was put out there right after the ticket increases came out. |

This one I agreed 100% on ... and I posted it last night during the game. The Flyers power play is tragically comical right now. Rocky may be a good coach and good guy, but the Flyers need a new voice there. And I think that will happen this off season. The fact that the Flyers have Briere, LeClair and Sharpe meeting with Rocky monthly about the PP and hearing the tone in Tort's voice when he is asked about it, I think the writing is on the wall already. - jd250
They had leclair and sharp employed since June of 23 -- has the PP gotten any better? |

Teams are always interested in improving defensive depth going into the playoffs. GMs will tell you to make a serious cup run you need to be 10 defenseman deep at least. Seeler is a good veteran defenseman that is pretty cheap. The Flyers can move him any time they want. - jd250
They do not want to though -- that is the problem |

I want to point out the PP has been bad for several years now, before Rocky joined the coaching staff. It has not improved I grant you that. But its clear Briere took steps, against Tort's wishes I suspect, to bring in other voices this season. Given the PP still has not improved, I would think Rocky will be replaced in the off season. If not, then I agree it makes no sense. |

When they hired Torts the only thing they are "rebuilding" is the culture. Not rebuilding anything else
This really is a Mickey Mouse franchise. Good luck to the people who support this and think this management team has them on the path to contention. You are either blind or dumb. Probably more likely both.

What teams will be interested in a 3rd pair dman who is overpaid with term? Seeler will be another Flyers lifer.
Flyers value role players over top end players. Wish I could find the quote Danny made about not wanting to be the Oilers or Leafs in terms of elite talent; rather build with depth.
None of it matters is typical Flyers homerism. All the small stuff adds up. Nah doesn't matter. When do the Flyers ever win at the margins? - furio16
None of it matters is homerism? If you need to pay rent are you going to spend your time focusing on a job to get a paycheck so you can pay the rent or on trying to sell off a few small items for $1-$2 for a lottery ticket and hope you win with 1-2 plays?
Flyers need rent money aka elite talent. The focus is on what needs to be done to get that not selling off run of a mill players for pieces that are essentially buying 1 play for the lottery. Flyers need 1st round picks, not 5th and 6th round picks.

Since Torts and his staff arrived the PP has been putrid. You don't have to try to defend everything they do.
There is no valid reason for Danny to not fire him unless he isn't allowed. Not sure how you or anyone else can't see it is one of 2 scenarios. |

Trading plugs for mid round picks increases the likely hood of drafting in the top 5 to get elite talent. Keeping them or extending them to keep them longer has them picking in the teens where it really is winning the lottery in finding elite talent |

I think its unfair to fire any coach after only one or two seasons. However this will be Rockey's 3rd season running the offense, and unfortunately the PP has not improved, and frankly looks bad. Therefore I think after this season its fair to replace Rocky. |
