You don't think they gave TK a verbal we won't trade you before the ext kicks in?
- furio16
No I dont. How do you know the opposite isnt true either? Maybe the extension was done with the intention of moving him to a contender. Again plans change, thats how the business works. It isnt like the Flyers havent done it before. The Flyers signed JVR to an extension and then traded him to TOR just before it kicked in

I don't know what is true as wasn't there. Just asked you a question.

I believe 100% they told him that.

I agree if this is the only deal then Briere has failed. Laughton and Risto need to be traded.

I would also look into Sanheim's value as well. Tear it down DB.

I have little interest in trading sangeim at the moment

You are spinning which is ok. People know your shtick. Point is the two best players in the deal are Frost and Farabee. Yes facts matter. Farabee had 50 points last year season….struggled a bit this year but probably would still have finished with 15-17 goals and close to 40 points despite Torts usage of the player. Morgan Frost is a 45 point type center….never was going to be a top line guy but 17-19 goals a year…again those are the facts….not the OPINIONS you have. In the end it’s a salary dump where Briere continues to produce underwhelming results as a GM. Again those are the facts…they just aren’t your OPINIONS….which again is ok.

If you’re just going by points, that Kuz guy put up a 74 spot two yrs ago. Really hard to say who got the better, way too early for that. To me, with all being FA’s, don’t think it’s going to matter much. Funny though, for the past week or so this site was mostly flooded with posts (not from you per se) that all our players were trash and Danny wasn’t doing anything about it. Now it seems most are looking for a return of Guy Lafluer and Jacgues Lemaire for what was perceived to be our trash.
Hopefully this is the beginning of some real turnover of the roster, with more to come.

and the standings look amazing, real shot of sinking to top 5, they need to find that rising team who wants to add Laughton and or risto, another first in the mid teens should be a target.

if he can actually put pucks in the net on passes from Michkov, sure

frost and farabee were useless at that

If they keep him yes but they can move him and the fact that hes on a new contract next season makes him a pretty valuable target for a contender\Pretender.

Even if the plan was to keep TK, its not impossible that Briere has seen the team this season and re-evaluated the team and is pivoting from his intial plan. The team was better last year, guys looked like they took positive steps. This season was the opposite. Guys took steps backwards.

As much as I liked Farabee, It was no surprise he was moved. We all knew Frost was gone. We saw countless guys on theis team pass Farabee in the lineup. Brink, Foerster, Michkov and you already had Tippett and TK ahead so you kind of knew Farabee was probably the weak link. Not to mention where theres smoke there is fire. When guys turn up in rumours they are available and they do eventually get moved at some point.

- xShoot4WarAmpsx

I would love that to be the case. I would love for him to say " You know what, this is going to be longer then I initally thought so let's see if we can move him before his no trade protections kick in and while he producing"

Might not be a better time because he is still producing. What might his numbers look like on a bottom end team next year and after.

I think most of us just want the Flyers to come out on top of a trade every once in a while.

Maybe Kuz’s will see the light and the Flyers won’t have to run him out of town. Do I see him and Torts getting along? No. I’m fine with moving out guys that don’t fit for the future, but I also think it’s fair to point out when they make deals that on the surface look like an old fashioned fleecing. Kuz does have talent but from everything that’s being said is he’s counting the days until he can return to the motherland.
Do I think the guys moved are of the star calibre? No. I do think the 2 best assets moved in the deal, all things considered, ended up in Calgary

I’m hoping they could flip Kuz again at the deadline and maximize the trade some more. I’m not thinking he will have a Torts issue, as IMO I think Torts will be gone at the lastest, seasons end. I don’t hate him as much as most here do, but I do not think he is the guy moving forward for this young team. Fingers crossed.

Kuzmenko had a great start with the Flames last year. Fans wanted him extended, saying he was the most talented player on the roster. Then the off season, comes back to Calgary and pfff…..disappears.
I’d expect him to look great at first then fade away.

Conroy, the flames GM, said this trade came together quickly, in one day. He said he and Danny talk often because they’re both young GM‘s in the league and they happen to be talking yesterday morning and they started talking about a one for one player deal and eventually it turned into a bigger deal and both GMS felt like the time was right to pull the trigger on the trade. He also said they were looking at frost because he’s a center and they need help with center even though he’s not a right shot center, which is what they needed, and they like that he makes quick passes and will help on their zone entries.

Depends. Would you consider Hayes and DeAngelo to fit that? DeAngelo has been a problem where ever he has gone. Rangers got rind of him, Canes got rid of him twice, no one wanted to sign him until recently and history tells us it wont be long term.

Hayes? There were some issues sure, there was also a clear desire to move on for everyone including fans. Many fans werent happy he was signed in the first place. I dont believe Torts was the only reason he was moved.

Provy and Flyers both wanted to part ways. There were issues between him and the org going back to Vineault. This one is def not Torts related.

Farabee and Frost also not really Torts related. As far as I know no one asked to be moved. Both players struggled with consistancy and ultimately Briere seems like he gave up on them. Torts didnt drive these two out. Farabee had a career year last season under Torts

His M-NTC will probably still come in to effect there. He had to waive to come to Philly so that could put a crimp in that moving forward.

The story is that Briere and Jones had to convince him to waive to come to Philly.

A month or two with Torts will probably go a long way towards getting him to waive to his 12 team list.

Nothing to finish. Torts is full-fledged car salesman.

You eat up everything he says. He is a total fraud.

I see, you only eat some of what he says to support your false narratives. Got it.

I consider all of them to be torts related -- it is always my way or the highway with him -- he is doing the same thing with MM - he is going to eventually get so fed up with the d lapses that he ruins the kids confidence in his offensive abilities

If you look at his career in the NHL its kind of similar.

Great 1st season in Vancouver.
Bad season
Traded
Almost a point per game for the rest of the season
Bad Season again.

Flyers should take advantage of the potential resurgance.

Freidman apparently said Calgary was going to put him on waivers few weeks back.

Imagine having to beg a guy like Kuzie to play for your team. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

The ONE season he produced he had a shooting percentage over 27% which is just not sustainable and he was playing w EP. I am sure his 4 goals will really help this anemic offense.
