How about you and your buddy uggie get together and swoon over trump whilst helping to pack each other's poop on the way the (frank) out of our country. 👍 - joel878
I honestly don't know what to say. I thought left/right/up/down, we all came to the conclusion that George W Bush and his cabal were war criminals and terrible...but I will leave Canada immediately to go suck up to a person I don't even like. Cool. |

There's rumours of a giant spliff on the dressing room.
Two of their best players - an older guy and a younger guy just coming into his prime - are said to absolutely franking hate each other.
It's a terrible situation - even the club president has said that it's unrepairable.
Realistically, they are going to have to trade both guys, and will probably get pennies on the dollar. It's going to set the team back 2-3 years.
It just really sucks. It sucks so bad, in fact, that I'll probably go and troll other teams' threads today, because I can't bear to face the reality. Yeah, it's a cowardly thing to do. What can I say? - Atomic Wedgie
Don't Bogart that spliff.
That's how I orginally read it.

0 reason for Utah to trade Hayton.
Leafs do not have anyone to offer for Cozens, they will want a similar young player with term back.
Even if they did want picks a team like Nashville has 5 1sts and a strong prospect pool and will outbid them.
Say yes to Saad. - Santo_44

Not to be political but honestly it's boiling down to nothing but noise. He's indicating he will NOT be taxing Canadian crude ...the threats become pretty hollow if that's true. And his Tariff/Tax man is saying all we need to do to avoid his threat is do something about the relatively small amounts of Fentanyl we allow into the US.
Our new government will buy some military and spend some money (they already have) on the Border ...Trump will thump his chest in victory ...and we'll move on.
I don't see this impacting hockey revenues in any meaningful way. - The Law
All true but Trump does seem to believe that tariffs also have the potential to be a major source of government revenue. If so, he may be looking for more than a chest thumping and sees this as a bit of a trial run. |

EF thinks Marchand could be in play soon.
Not sure if there is a fit but it would be hilarious and entertaining if the leafs got him. - Santo_44
if he was to be a Leafs, he'd be suspended for that crap he does. |

Trump is just trying to be a bully on the international stage, I highly doubt there will be and tariffs imposed on Canada. Hey, it worked with Columbia, though. |

With the current exchange rate, the Jets, Sens and Oilers should be terrified. |

That what I am thinking too. We are the biggest trade partners with US and he does not want to hurt Canada economically. He wants to put some pressure on current Government and potentially replace it with Conservative one.
He started cultural revolution in US and naturally he would like it spreads over the North border. |

Its bs though because in his last term almost all of the tariffs they collected went to bail out farmers. And there are a lot of US states terrified right now about retaliation. Any farm states will again be devastated. Trump doesn’t have a clue. He’s just trying to bully his way through things but he’s isolating the US more and more. It won’t end well. |

They have not been able to bring any free agents. They are not a destination and nothing is going to change that in the immediate future. - Santo_44
Cause they havent thrown large sums at any FA.

Lame.
Bettman created the Canadian Franchise Assistance Program the last time there was this exchange rate disparity. It saved Calgary, Ottawa and Edmonton.
Quote from Harley Hotchkiss:
"Quite frankly, he saved our franchise and likely Edmonton and Ottawa with (his support of) the Canadian currency assistance program. . . . That act alone is often overlooked, but it saved our franchise. . . . He saved other franchises with his own high energy and determination and grasp of what needs to be done."
Everyone wanted Bettman to save the Nordiques and the Jets - but the owners were selling, and there were no buyers who wanted to keep them there. |

I'm sorry, how do we know that?
There was an article in the Athletic on April 20, 2020 by Tim Graham:
As Pegulas face business challenges, employees describe a ‘toxic culture’ at PSE
It did not paint a flattering picture of the Pegulas (Terry and Kim) and their management of their sports teams.

Most likely he has some team, who can calculate the consequences of such actions.
I doubt he makes such decisions alone. I hope common sense will prevail in the end. |
