York Newbury: Canucks Trades! And a Loss! - York Newbury
Well that didn’t take long.
Almost forgot about the other other pettersson with all the other rumours out there.
Our D was suspect af and is now improved.
Stoked to move on from Desharnais. Was never a fan of that signing.
Mgmt know when a signing isn’t working out and aren’t afraid to move on. Good on em.
Heinen and Doc seem like a wash.
Essentially Miller, Heinan, Desharnais, Brannstrom and a 1st For Chytill, Pettersson, O’Conner and Mancini. We got younger and offloaded some mistakes and gained cap space. |

At the end of the day, I think that's a pretty important point. The Canucks have a lot of room to maneuver. They just have to be prudent in signing (or trading for) the right piece... plus they gotta resign new Pettersson to make it worthwhile. |

I wouldn’t be mad if Hughes decided to give the 4 nations tourney a pass. |

Are we going with E-petey, D-Petey and M-Petey?
But yeah, I think they’ll resign him like Hronek.
Hughes-Myers
M-Petey - Hronek
Soucy-Forbot
Juulsen
Mancini, DPetey, Willander coming up. |

Marcus Pettersson 2024-25' + Penguins ranks:
55.27% xGF (2nd)
53.95% Scoring Chance For (2nd)
59.26% High Danger Scoring Chances For (2nd)
Started 17.7% of shifts in the Defensive Zone (1st)
Most Common DPartner: Erik Karlsson (464:00 TOI)
Pettersson xGF% with EK65: 56.62%
EK65 xGF% without Pettersson: 47.15%
Pettersson xGF without EK65: 53.3%
The #Canucks are getting a very strong 2LD. If he plays with Hronek, they could be VERY fun.

That’s a lot of drama being offloaded in 24hrs. I hope the old men yelling at clouds can hold off on pissing themselves to enjoy the retool. Too bad their stool is so hard they think everyone else is soft AF. Shake ups can be emotional but the long term gains are a measured approach.
The retool trades are about puzzle pieces to push pace and increase speed. More cap space to add impact players. Leading to a younger upside team extending window and increasing possibility of QH extension. |

Yeah the D now and going forward looks a lot better. It goes from suspect to sustainable. |

Canucks are now up to 26.8 mill in cap room for next season. These are their UFAs at the moment:
Boeser
M-Petey
Lankinen
Suter
O'Connor
PDG
Forbort
Juulsen
Lots of room to play. |

Petey RePetey DPetey - Nighthawk
The D combos look set for me putting in MP with Hronek and Soucy slides to play with Forbort. But the forwards not so much.
Debrusk EP Boeser
Dak Suter Garland
Hoglander Chytel Sherwood
O’Conner Bluegar Karlsson
Debrusk EP Sherwood
Suter Chytel Boeser
Dak Bluegar Garland
O’Connor Raty Hogs
send Raty/ Karly down recall JL and:
Hoglander EP JL
Debrusk Chytel Boeser
Dak Suter Garland
O’Conner Bluegar Sherwood
Debrusk EP JL
O’Connor Chytel Boeser
Dak Suter Garland
Hoglander Bluegar Sherwood
I guess RT can experiment for balance or chemistry on forward lines. |

Yes. 2 Canucks make the top 20 UFA list. My guess MP signs by TDL. Then off season Canucks buy Rantanen to replace Boeser.

Nah he's a good player. The part thay scares me is they clearly aren't going to trade Forward Petey. |
