Guys like Fasching/Gatcomb/MacLean/DeAngelo/Boqvist/Rielly/etc... are the exact reason that you shouldn't be giving term to aging bottom-of-the-lineup players. There's always someone out there that's hungry for an NHL job and can play at a minimal number on a one or two year deal. Nobody needs to guarantee themselves 7 years of a giant giraffe-wussy like Engvall.

Exactly good teams find these guys for cheap and pay stars more or they move prospects up.into these roles

Amen! A Hall of fame GM should know this.

I have to agree with you here on all points.

I'm trying very hard to not believe some of the stuff that I've seen regarding extensions for Nelson/Palmieri rather than trades. Really nothing ever leaks out so, I'm hoping, those "reports" are nothing more than speculation or a little misdirection from Lou to try to inflate the offers he's getting for those two.
