Should have been on the knee pad there. Hopefully just a knock. Hopefully!
Can this season of injury hell get worse?

- nyisles7

Ironically, they started playing better with a bunch of regulars on IR. The replacements Lou has come up with have been stellar.

Sorta crazy how loosing a couple of key dmen has resulted in this team suddenly playing it's most composed defense of the year

You can’t make this shat up. The injuries this year are ridiculous! (frank)ing Lou and these old players!

Is Brock part of Lou's dinner circle or do you guys think he'll be traded? I think NYI sells, maybe after the break.
- HockeyBuzzed

I do not think he will trade him, But he should no matter what position we are in we need to get younger and more talent.

If price is right trade him and Palms get into playoffs without them.

If the isles win tonight, a back to back game, against an elite team, without Barzal I’ll become a believer. Furthermore if the games leading up to the break are more wins, I think Lou becomes a buyer at the deadline and re-signs Nelson and Palmieri.

Wait so if they win tonight with Skarek ( 4th position goalie )in net. No Barzal, Pulock, Mayfield, Dobson against the Stanley Cup Champs you will believe in this team?
What a fan!

Always will be a fan. I’m saying if they win tonight, against the cup champs without Barzal etc etc, then I will think they have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Adding three dmen, who can all play on the PP is a major factor. Having vet presence on the backend has been missing for multiple years.
The team/roster last night is different than the roster they started the season with. The lack of depth on D is on Lou, but he did correct it so that’s a positive. How often do you see a team add 3 defensemen in a matter of a week or two? They used to go the bport call up route but sadly they have a very underwhelming farm. Now they have a new defensemen on all 3 pairs…..all of whom can add offense. That’s a major factor to this turnaround.

Yeah but coming into a new team and learning its structure takes time. They have certainly fit in and haven’t hurt that’s for sure. That said I think the Tony D signing was a steal. He’s been outstanding. Romanov had also been a bull. Pelech has been solid.
Teams got its mojo but beating The Cats today will be tough. It will be a good test to see the charecter of this team. With the injuries coming again, will they compete or feel sorry for them selves and fall flat.
The season has been hell as far as injuries and they haven’t quit so I think you will see a good effort from them today and that’s what I want to see. Don’t have to win, just compete.

DeAngelo looks better than any dman the isles have (injured or healthy). Wild

Like I said, IMO that signing was a steal. Romanov played over 30 minutes last night. He’s been a bull and is growing into a tough shutdown dman. Boqvist played only 10 minutes and Mayfield went down so they basically played with 4 dman for half the game.
Tonight they have to play the Cats. Not an easy task for those guys back to back.

These dman can move the puck similar to what Leddy and Toews did for the team.

Agreed on all. Tonight’s game is gonna be telling. 4th string goalie, with multiple injuries. They shouldn’t win this game on paper.

The less time in their own zone has been a big help along with being smart with the puck and less turnovers. Sorokin being healthier is another big plus.

Boqvist and DeAngelo scoring last night is a difference maker. That’s been lacking. I think Lou thought Dobson and Pulock would be those guys but they have come up short. Turnovers by dman were a problem. Hopefully it’s limited now
