Question for all: Will the Stanley Cup parade be along Hempstead Turnpike? - JohnScammo
come on look at this resume. Conference Finals at best.
Beckman was skating in his first season with the Devils organization after he was acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Wild for Graeme Clarke on June 21, 2024. The forward spent the entire duration of 2024-25 with New Jersey’s American Hockey League affiliate in Utica and had 33 points (13g-20a).

My response to the one that do not, is what has this team won with the current players? My next question is what sign or action shows you that this team is worth keeping together and win?
My short answer is nothing! My next short answer is nothing!
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
The only reason Nelson got traded was that he was unwilling to sign Lou's 3 yr deal. Had he signed it. NO ONE would have been traded this year. No one.
Lou may have forgotten more hockey than I have ever learned but this trade deadline was a huge, missed opportunity to strengthen this team with some depth.

Lou didn't want to trade anyone. He only traded Nelson because Nelson made it clear he wasn't going to take Lou's offer. |

The Isles are stuck in mediocrity. They need fresh leadership.

I love the islanders but sometimes hate being a fan. I don’t want full re-tar-…build, but agree with many on here was a perfect year for prospect add. Honestly with cap increases could have really added some fantastic prospects/ draft picks and added fa in offseason. |

Maybe it's enough for some, but Lou not being Garth is not good enough. The bar should be higher. Trading Nelson should have only been the start. Most fans and hockey people understand this. New blog!

Prospects don’t eat cap. Every team has 8 million more in the off season to spend. |

I hear that Streaks, for those us who were spoiled in the 80's. Teased in 93'. Mislead in the 2000's. It is sometimes rough to root for this team when it shoots themselves in the foot. Here is to someday they run out of bullets, and we enjoy a long successful run.

No it is horrible. But here is my question about Palms. Is signing him to another two year at a rise going to help put this team over the top? How much of an impact will have next year and the following?
My point is that this was a sellers' market. The Isles could have traded him for a few months got some draft capital in next year's draft or a prospect. If the marriage was really meant to be sign him back a UFA in July for the same amount.
I know... I know this rarely happens. However, even if Lou was doing say a retool, it would help to have some chips in the draw to use.
In two years, the Isles if they sign Palms will garner nothing. Nothing even close to yesterday. So, to me as much as I like him. It is short sighted by Lou for the long-term growth of this franchise.

But why accept mediocrity? and yes, I am going to go there. Only democrats and liberals accept mediocrity. That is how they main control.
I for one want to see grow. Lou teased us with his move of Nelson and Defour. It showed initiative and thought for the future. Nelson was a hot commodity and brought back nice pieces. Defour was not going to make this team any in the near future.
That same for thought should have been used to test the waters for Palms, JGP, Lee, Pelech, Pulock, Duc, and anyone else that could help accelerate this process. Yes, I realize that teams may not have asked for them and or the offers we not good. But it seems like every other team in this league can move bad contracts and secure good players.
