Time to dust off the Nighthawk Free Zone thread. This is a fkn joke. It's Miller type overbearing on our virtual locker room.

He’s a 1C only by acclimation not performance. Paid as a 1C results of top 6 winger at best. Big decision time like it or not. He’s tradable due to risk reward & no protection. Selling high is very enticing. Locked up for 7 more years imo helps greatly.

I mean, if he's as bad as you say, he's not worth a bag of pucks.

I still say shut him down if he is indeed hurt, let him try and rehab fully and either become somewhere near the 11.6 player or rebuild some value. Right now his value is at all-time (so far) low.

I am looking forward to the line combinations to see how they do until the TDL than the constant sell scenarios.

First game after the trade the media was a little rough on EP, yesterday a lot more. I can see the media soon being mean to Petey very soon. Sat Shah said yesterday for 11.6 mil you need to be a lot better than 60 points.

Agree, with no Hughes this team has to win 1-0 or 2-1 ... they just can't drive enough offense without him as they rely on him as the only guy to create any space in offensive zone. Only other guys I'm seeing creating space right now (in different ways) are Garland, Sherwood and TBH Hoglander, even if he's terribly snakebitten right now.

I look at Petey as a flake. I remember years ago when he was into his fashion line and trying to record music in LA. It was the year of his contract when him and Hughes held out.

Petey when he first started was hungry and put up big numbers and for the last year has been 60% of his best year. He is an introvert and quirky. He reminds me of Yoko Ono for some reason.

It is time to man up and earn your contract.

I do blame PA more than anyone for his contract. There was a lot of pressure everywhere including here to sign Petey long term and the numbers they were throwing out were stupid. I also wonder how much meddling FA was involved. It looks like once again Frankie can't sit still and wants to call the shots. I think that is probably why JR did his rant last week so th public knows.

Petey and Matthews are similar in the fashion ideas as well, but AM remembers that he is a hockey player first and puts up 60+ goals a year. Its about the off ice commitment that is so concerning about him. Put the gamepad down, put on some muscle and play hard. Unfortunately, I don't think its in his makeup. Who would think that management wouldnt judge how things go based on one game without the 4 or 5 replacement players from the trade and the empty holes from the outgoing player, and 1 game without Hughes.
