The #leafs announce that Mitch Marner is out tonight with a lower-body injury. He's officially day-to-day, but isn't expected to be in any danger of missing the 4 Nations Face-Off.

So I heard on the radio talks of the cap and leaf contracts.

Know what sucks? Leafs sign all their core guys and then flat cap with covid. Now that those contracts are up the leafs are needing to re-sign these guys but with hugely inflated cap so they be looking to cash in again! Whereas other teams got deals signed on flat caps.

Anyway, heard an idea for Marner too. Maybe he signs a short term deal for 3 or 4 years at say 11.5 or 12 million and then when the cap is 113 million, cash in again but huge. He's young enough to do it whereas Johnny T is on his last chance to cash in.
