That's a Canuck decision, not mine. Some people need to be lifted up continually, positive reinforcement, some don't, they obviously knew his traits before they gave him his contract and they obviously knew of the room issues before they gave him that contract.
That's on Rutherford and Allvin. Like I've said many times, maybe a trade is the best thing for him to reset himself. As long as they return is good I'm all for it. I just want the team to win, regardless of whose names are on the back of the sweaters. - Pacificgem
Like I said there is one more glaring mistake that needs to be fixed.
I know you are on X and see there is close to a 50/50 spit about moving him before the NMC. Miller's being mean to him is going to be a walk in the park compared to what is going to be said about him in the next 5 weeks.

The fact that this is an issue day after day shows there is still some unfinished business on the table.
Ignoring the issues works both ways. - VANTEL
I don't think anyone in the Canucks organization is ignoring it. They're working with him to try and get better results, it's just going to be a process. |

I’m starting to get the Alexandre Daigle vibe off this kid. All the talent in the world but lacks deep passion for the game. Daigle went on to have a respectable hockey career but did not reach the high level he could have if focused and determined.
Just looked at his stats page and didn’t realize that Daigle is 50 years old. Time flies. - bloatedmosquito
I don't get that at all, he's shown that he has huge passion for the game. He's just a weird introverted kid who's had a tough time dealing with a very public feud. As the guys in the room have acknowledged was difficult for everyone. |

You know what would help him? A bunch of anonymous people and media writers pouring onto him, insulting him, and casting him out of Vancouver. That will show him! |

I enjoyed last night's game. EPT and MPT have a nice stabilizing effect back there on D. Chytil has looked very good, Hronek played well, as did Demko.
Look forward to next game. - Reubenkincade
If this continues that Miller trade is going to look like a huge win for the Canucks, not vs the Rangers, just purely from a Canuck perspective. Not only has Chytil been fantastic, O'Connor has as well. Not to mention the 1st they flipped for Marcus Pettersson, completely different team thus far. |

It's unlikely insulting him and his game daily on HB is going to change anything.
At the end of the day they need results, it's a results based business, but making reactionary short-sighted decisions is also dumb. Give it time and see how it plays out. If they don't see progress by the end of the month then move him, if they have more patience then keep him and see how it goes until the end of the year. If they're not satisfied then move him before his movement clause kicks in. |

I don't think the outside noise affects him, but the internal stuff certainly did. I hope he turns it around for himself and the Canucks, if not, so be it. Move on from him. Teams move on from players all the time and both still find success.
Boston moving on from both Joe Thornton and Tyler Seguin being prime examples. |

The other side of the coin is moving on from Jeff Skinner.
The best thing for Petey is being moved. He will 100% have a spike in his game. The style of play does not fit EP40. It is Torts and the Sedins all over again.
Like Marcus Naslund said when he left "It is so much easier out of there"
Boston also won a cup without those two. Can't remeber the year though |

I mean, what else is there to take from your quote there? Vancouver media is also noted to be toxic. |

Solid post. Couldn't agree more. Prime Petey was a force. Hope he can regain that form here or somewhere.
That Chytil kid sure is fun to watch. Actually all the new guys are. We would never have known the difference unless they moved on from Miller. |

Wasn't referring to HB. The noise from the media and Twitter/social media definitely seeps into the room.
But yes, you and I are more in agreement of what's happening and what the outcomes are. |

Yes I did. The outside noise is going to crank up to 11. If he is going to use it as an excuse then go enjoy Carolina where the fans are nicer and teammates are not mean.
He needs to grow a pair and stop with all the excuses. |

This. The media isn't gonna lighten up. The fans won't either. Never have never will. It isn't even a shadow of what he was. To me the fix is sooooooooo easy in nhl. Switch to contacts like the nhl. Take away 100 percent grunted contracts and I bet you'd see way more hustle outta the 50/50 guys in terms of effort |

The Canucks moved on from plenty of good players, as have other teams, and still been competitive. The West Coast Express days was a product of moving on from Linden and Bure, in part. Moving on from Miller and Petey would be similar if they get good returns. The players performance thus far from the Miller trade sure shut a lot of people up, hasn't it. |

I think Canucks made a lot of progress last week and I am a big JTM fan. Miller was not going to have a good year here even if it was Petey that got moved. He was done and the same is true about EP40. He needs to go. Finish the cleansing.
