Habs need a major shake up outside of Suzuki, Caufield, Hutson everyone else is pretty much expandable. I am also not sold of MSL being the long term coach

they have holes, no doubt.

but I am not ready to give up on a lot of this group.

That being said, I would not be surprised if Dach or Newhook is traded before the start of the next season.

tks Hugo,
yeah, will they keep both Armia and Evans? a case could surely be made to do so.
and yet they might trade them both at the tdl.
we'll see

and yes, 5 pts at this time of the year is not much, but 5 teams to catch up... that's impossible. my money is on TB and NYR to get in.

Carrier and Guhle will stay but we need a few more players to take us over the top

10 point swing.

5 points from WC, 5 points from being bottom 5.

It's possible. I doubt they'd trade one of them without replacing them with a similar type of player/project. Newhook looks bound to play on the third line next season, which is the perfect spot for him imho.

Dach has ups and downs, I think they'll remain patient with him unless the opportunity to get an improved version of him occurs.

I think they keep both and evaluate them as their contract expires.

I like the idea of them getting a young 2nd line centre before season end

I have the feeling that would be more of an off-season move, no team would be willing to part ways with a young solid centerman right now imho.

Yeah, if they back away from Newhook or Dach, I see that as an off season move.

he's noticeable when he uses his speed, which he doesn't always do... perhaps that depends on who he's playing with.

Don't see the Habs getting an impact/upgrade player by the TDL.

I think the Habs might also want to see if there is anything realistic in the UFA market, too.
