*The comments section the past couple weeks has taken a nosedive into toxicity. It’s not ideal on the best of days, but these past few weeks have gotten much worse. Insults, personal attacks, accusations about player’s sexuality, group nicknames (stop trying to make fetch happen), non-stop train-of-thought posting… it’s creating an environment where people are tired of coming to. Makita checked in last night and decided to lock the blog because of how bad it was. It’s a bit dumb to have to write this out – though maybe it’s actually fitting with you lot – but it needs to be better or I’ll just ask Makita to come back and lock the threads and start handing timeouts to people. We can all be better, and a bit more mannered.* |

Thanks Yorky.
I miss Makita. I hope he’s around more often. Contributes well too.
Anyway, Demko is getting his groove back. Check. DOC is showing he needs to be signed. Check. Chytel brings energy. Saw in this game has some areas to work on but like his drive and bounce back. Check. MP and EP25 bring great dimensions for the D. Check. Yeah the retool is making a mark.
Now for the rest of the bunch well without QH’s offensive engine they look ineffective. They need to figure that out. They as a whole, not one player, have to step up to be a playoff team. |

Well, not the most exciting game I've ever witnessed, to be sure. Nice to get the win though. For some reason the team won't shoot the puck until they're forced to, they need a couple shoot-first mentality guys. The speed of the new guys is noticeable, and I like it!! |

I just looked at the shots, between EP40, Chytil, Boeser, Garland, Hoglander & DeBrusk, they had three shots (Boeser 2/Chytil 1) that's just simply not good enough. Boeser had his two shots on one PP opportunity.
Sharks got in the lanes a lot, there were a lot of shot attempts, but they've gotta find a way to get pucks on net more. Sharks are the worst team in the league. |

Ya wasn't the best display. Hopefully the four nations break lets them regroup a little. Maybe Petey can get his confidence up with his fellow Swedes, either give the team a bump or give Allvin a little more leverage in trading him |

If they were playing even a middle of the row team last night, it wouldn't have ended well.

Ha, I know but it seems like a strange way to try to grow his readership. Insult their intelligence and threaten to ban them. |

You should probably just sit this one out if you don't understand the context of what's been happening in here over the past while. It's toxic and driving people away. |

Same as the Leafs thread. I think the site should appreciate the fact that there’s anyone here at all and keep the threats to themselves. The reason a lot of people quit the site was because of the militant refs. |

This is completely untrue, the refs drive posters away that incite the toxic behaviours, which is what they're supposed to do. Having a group of 20-30 people who just want to have a hockey conversation is better than having 60 people who just want to say and do as they please, it shouldn't be a free-for-all so you can attract as many posters as you can.
We're all guilty of it from time to time, but some are just on it every day and that's their shtick. |

With the way the team and dressing room is fractured it’s not too surprising the thread is fractured. |

Like the oilers thread when Cloutier was their blogger. That place was anarchy.
