I’m pretty sure the word projected is only in there once as it relates to years 2 and 3. If anything, the cap ceilings and floors are expected to rise quicker than in the numbers set out. Because of the two year lag built into CBA coming out of the pandemic, cap growth has fallen behind revenue growth and owners will have to make up the difference in the same way that players had to pay back escrow when everything slowed down.

I think Draisaitl is an elite talent in the league, but ignoring how good Marner is when he is asked to be the man on this team is too dismissive.

We'll see what his next contract is but there have been times in his career where he is simply otherworldly - like over a 40 game period in 2022 (Jan 15 - Apr 16), he was pacing to a 148 point season. Does that 40 game period, for instance, lead you to a $14m contract?

Honestly I don't know but I do know that pacing to 120 points over 37 games landed Nylander $11.5m when the cap was notably less than it is now.

im not sure what cherry picking smaller game samples does. I never said he wasnt a good player.

but the original point is that the Leafs will end up paying the same or more for MM who in every statistical category that anyone looks at for player values, LD is better.

again, point is the leaf always have to pay the premiums

just adding , there are lots of ways to value a player, but LD ranks at the top 5 of most lists. Marner is a few notches below

Ok, that's a good start. There's a liquor store here with a good international selection of whiskies. They might have some of these.

Really? It’s not close. Marner is a fabulous offensive talent, one of the best passers in the game, and an unreal PK player. But better than Leon? Marner isn’t even the best winger in the league let alone more valuable than a centre that’s in the top 5 players on the planet.

Ultimately, the most telling stat line is the playoffs. Leon plays big - Mitch tries to avoid confrontation.

Hedman feeding stretch passes to Willy Styles at the 4 Nations will be sweet though.
