Ersson is on a real hot streak right now. Still after 31 games, save % .896, tied for 38th in the league. He has now played 93 games in the NHL, career save % .893. Is this what Ersson really is, just a good goalie? As a comparison, Bob played 83 games for the Flyers. Season save %s .915 and .899 before he was jettisoned for Bryz. I really doubt Briere just relies on the triumvirate in goal next season. |

The he was hurt and we couldn’t get full value excuse. He isn’t being moved. He will be on the roster come September.
Really wanted to see him get exposed in that tourny going against top end players. Wonder how he would have been used. - furio16
His injury doesnt affect value. He will miss 4 weeks. Theres 26 days to the TDL. His injury is not long term for any team adding him. The only thing preventing Flyers from moving him IMO is a team wanting retention. Only way around that would be to take a rental UFA back

6 more games to be played before the deadline. I sure hope Risto gets traded before the deadline. Lots of smoke around the Leafs. Fraser Minten and Nikita Grebenkin are two young players sent down to the AHL, not playing games, but apparently healthy. The 2 teams I am watching for the Flyers to do business with at the trade deadline are the Leafs and the Jets. - Trox88
Honestly Id rather try and go for Cowan. Throw in a pick if you have to.

Can you elaborate on what is the injury.
Brier being willing to move him also factors in don’t you think? There see him as a key cog going forward. |

It’s there. Go Flyers.
Well whatever they went to work on with JD isn’t working. He is not very good - furio16
Hes been fine. A lot better than when he started he. You are expecting huge steps that are unreasonable. Drysdale is not Makar. There isnt a switch to flip and Drysdale will be elite. He needs to play and develop which takes time. We wont see Drysdale at his peak for at least 3-5 years.
There is such a double standard when it comes to young players on our team. If hes a fan favourite, excuses are made, the go to saying is he needs to play make mistakes and work through it. There are growing pains. However if he isnt a fan fav. Then he should be sat, he shouldnt work through mistakes and they are unacceptable and the player is just trash.

No they dont. They are trying to squeeze the best return out of him. They dont view Risto as part of the future. Hes in his his 30s. You have to stop taking Briere at every word. Most of what he says is a bluff and PR spin. Briere will never say something negative about the Flyers, everything he says will spun to sound positive. Thats what corporations do. Hes never going to say hes looking to get rid of guys. Weve never heard him once say he was even shopping Farabee or Frost. All our info came from rumours. We never heard anything about Gauthier, he was just traded one day. The no show at camp was spun to keep fans from panicking.
You cant take anything Briere says at face value. He says what he and Comcast want us to know. Briere is not going to share any of his plans with the fans

Thank you for proving my point. His inconsistencies show on the ice by being overly cautious and stifling his offensive creativity |

Your definition of he has been fine and mine differ greatly. Yeah 3-5 years maybe then the Flyers will be done evaluating what they have.
Not sure why you bring up Makar. Odd choice. |

Let’s start with one simple reason dumb dumb. The fact he still employs Rocky as a coach. |

Makar is brought up because he is higher level talent hence why he entered the league elite. |

I certainly understand the interest. I just wonder how willing the Leafs are willing to part with a 1st rd pick prospect. Easier to spin a prospect who was a 2nd or 5th rd pick from the Leafs perspective. From the Flyers perspective, both of these players have already turned pro, had some success in the AHL. Not a stretch to believe the Marlies are a a better team then the Phantoms and both Minten and Grebenkin have played pretty well in their first year in the AHL. I can see the Leafs having interest in Risto and/or Laughton. Built to win now, window will still be open after this year, but Tavares will be a UFA, and players like Tanev and Rielly will be a year older. It would make sense for them to load up the lineup to strength their bottom 6 and third pair.
I have zero issue with Briere acquiring players 22 yrs old or younger instead of draft picks. |

It sounds like JT is returning. As a team trying to win now, if the price is good enough Im confident they will be willing move Cowan. Leafs stars are in their late 20s now. Nylander is 28, Matthews 27, Marner 27. The Leafs are not at a point where they can sit back and be patient for a prospect to develop. If they dont win in the next 3-5 years, the Matthews era will be a failure.
Minten is def a reasonable add, I just think if theres a scenario where you can upgrade Minten to Cowan, you have to explore that especially if its one of the late 1sts that TOR can flip for another TDL add

1) Agreed
2) Who Cares
3) Likely traded at the deadline
4) Who cares
5) Conflicted. You have an elite player. I dont think a late pick is good enough but also helps the tank to move
6) Rumor. Flyers nor Cutter have confirmed this. Cutter himself said there were a bunch of red flags and it wasnt just one thing.
