Dude, it's amazing down here now. It's (frank)ing GREAT.

Eggs are free! Everyone gets free eggs per household every month delivered by an attractive white straight girl who's really a girl and not a bone-smuggler. Praise baby jesus!

Just kidding. We have egg shortages, rationing, and restaurants now have egg surcharges. So great.

The thing that I found most irritating about that was the dumb nationalism posed by all of our media - like both TSN and Sportsnet panels only looked at Canadian defensemen on Canadian teams . . ."Weegar or Tanev would be great!"

Not if several other more qualified and capable defensemen who play for US-based teams - including Doughty - are available. It's a good decision in my opinion.

Trump is (frank)ed.

He’s tried to lower the costs of living by doing three things and it failed miserably.

Thing 1: “Hey Treasury, can you lower interest rates to lower prices?” (frank) you said the treasury. Inflation is rising again so that’s not going to happen.

Thing 2: “Hey Saudi Arabia, can you lower the price of oil so things become cheaper for us? (frank) you said the Saudis..

Thing 3: Drill baby drill! (frank) you said the American oil producers. They need the price of oil high to pay back the shareholders. Dozens of US oil producer went bankrupt during the Covid shale bust, and they’re not risking that again. The US is already the worlds #1 oil producer and exporter.

Saudis need the price high to pay their budget. So no one’s producing more oil, which is how you drive the price down.

There’s a certain percentage of Trumps cult who’ll never stop supporting him. The ones who listen to Joe Rogan and are rage baited 24/7 to the point where they make it their entire personality. See Jewel. But I’m willing to bet that enough will start to turn on him once they realize nothing he does makes their life any easier. It’s easy to sit on the sidelines and throw barbs at the guy in power, but it’s not easy being the one responsible. At some point people will wise up to his shtick and turn on him once they realize he’s robbing them blind.

Treasury doesn’t set interest rates, the Federal Reserve does and it’s an independent body. I don’t even think he’s particularly concerned about inflation one way or another.
He’s much more interested in seeking revenge on anyone who’s wronged him and expanding the power of the presidency.

Musk is taking direct control of government expenditure systems to stop payments and gut agencies without congressional approval and Trump is pushing tariffs as a revenue source to replace taxes that are set by Congress. This will all go through the court system and he’s counting on a Supreme Court that tends to support an expanded role of the Presidency.

As long as he keeps throwing red meat at his base by rounding up brown immigrants, enough will stay with him. It’s not like he’s going to run again.

Power play is still poor. The 5 forward unit is dreadful.

I'm still not a solid believer in Woll . . .his lack of consistency is frustrating.

Matthews blows a wide open net . . . he is looking like he's injured again. His shot has lost some zip and accuracy. And the team had at least 5 giveaways tonight - that I saw - where they were forcing pucks to Matthews in the D-zone or neutral zone when he was in double coverage or not even moving.

They earned the loss and still could have come out lucky - but didn't.

You got to be kidding me on Woll. The team in front scored one (frank)ing goal and were lacklustre. Goaltending not an issue with this team.

You would hope, but don't hold your breath. A bigly percentage of Americans are housebroken and will vote against their own best interests to please invisible sky daddy or orange pedo daddy.

i mean, the guy literally raped kids with the most notorious pedophile on the planet and nobody cared enough to stop him from being elected again. America jumped the shark.

You folks up in Canada are the adults in the North American room now.

We shoulda let Uncle Billy finish the job properly and we wouldn't be having this problem now.

Lightning are going to be a tougher out this year.

Vasilevskiy is back to form, which is bad news in and of itself. For the first time in two seasons, he is looking like that guy who can steal games.

Guentzel is better than Stamkos and their top-six is as good as any in the league.

McDonagh has really shored up their leaky defense.

The only blessing for the Leafs is that the Lightning's bottom six is trash. I'd take McMannimal over anybody in the Lightning's bottom six. I like former Leaf Glendening, but he brings zero offense, just like Kampf.

I still think the Leafs are the better team overall right now, but if these two teams meet in the postseason again, it's going to be a 7-game brawl.

Tampa and Florida will be tough team to beat. I am not sure the Leafs have it enough to get through these very good teams. Hopefully the Leafs can make some good deals to improve bottom six soon.

By consistency I'm talking one play to the next. I think he's a spectacular goalie, but there are a number of things in his game I'd like to see him work on - battling through screens is one of his weaknesses as he doesn't do a very good job of it. Generally I think he'll make several saves that he has no business making but allows at least 1 goal that I think he should have - and that's what I mean by a lack of consistency.

I'm not blaming the loss on Woll for the record, 1 goal from the offense isn't going to cut it and I agree with that.

Agree. Having Vasilevskiy or Shesterkin or Bobrovsky in net wouldn't mean poop if you can't score more than one goal. You could have the best goalie in the universe and you aren't winning many games with that level of minimal offensive support. That game almost put me to sleep.

I mean, there hasn’t been for a long time. The elites chose who the candidates are and the pee-ons decide between two shitty candidates.
