29 % is nothing for NH. I have seen him over 50%. Just like his favorite player EP40 his numbers are down by half also.

I can also safely say that the NFL doesn't really know their audience and putting on shows like that turn off the very demographics that they're looking to court. Funny how pandering to any demographic never seems to work out the way they want. Problem is that nowadays, people and corporations do things solely for social media engagement and get influencers on board and end up alienating most of their consumer base. I remember the days when putting KISS, or Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne on for the half-time show was considered controversial because of the connotations of them being symbols of Satanism.

One of the funniest comments I did see about the HTS was they wished Lamar told them to Turn the TV OFF before the show began and not save it until the last song.

I think it's a bit more involved than just someone's like or dislike for the performer. There's a culture war going on in the US right now and the NFL just put themselves smack dab in the middle of it.

Black Uncle Sam? What he said had meaning to a particular community. SLJ basically said out loud "make sure this performance is White enough for the audience". That's pretty radical for the NFL.

Considering all the BS that is spewed in this forum, I think this subject has some merit worthy of discussion...

My daughter's, who are mixed racially, think that some in here are way to sensitive, when it comes to these types of issues. If someone thinks something sucks, then by all means, have your say.
I will say, my daughter's get a good laugh at some of the comments in regards to these issues.

My comment last night was mainly. You can not get any whiter than the Super Bowl. 30 white billionaires making boatloads of money. Why would you agree to preform there if your message is against white corporate business?

I am sure Robert Kraft was not his private box bumping to the music and thinking "That was deep, next year I will change". He was probably thinking that fool just made me 30 mil.

If EP can play like he did vs Toronto 80%+ of a season, he'll be worth every penny. If he can't this will be a big mistake.
- Retinalz

He did have a big game 4 weeks ago on Saturday night against the Leafs. Also the following Saturday night. If Canucks can get their schedule change to playing only on Saturdays, they will be set.

And Kendrick Lamar is one of the most popular musicians on the planet right now. "Not Like Us" broke multiple streaming records and earned him five Grammy awards. Plus, on the cool side, he has a Pulitzer for music. He's talented as poop, and the performance was definitely aimed towards a different demographic.

24-0 probably had something to do with that also.

I know very little about him nor did I like the show. The wife and I also turned off the game for the second half and went to dinner. The crowd at the restaurant did not enjoy the game. There was no cheering when PHI scored and about 3 people cheered when KC scored. Even though the game was on, the viewership was not.

I have seen many people post Worst Super Bowl Ever.

I quite enjoyed it, especially how the Eagles defense played.

Not sure I can agree with your blanket statement, I think the music is trash regardless of what colour the performers are.

Guess I should tell my Goan daughter in law and my two mixed racial grandchildren that I’m a fragile old white guy because I think the music sucks.

- Makita

Typical response to use proximity to justify exactly what I said. "Im not racist, I have a friend who is black/brown" is getting tiresome and old. True allies don't need to make this statement or use proximity.

It was not so much the music that made his performance epic as the political statement I made a few posts back. If you listen carefully, you will see this was a clear message of a revolutionary movement. Nice try, though!!!

For example, did you know that his wearing bell bottoms represented him ringing the bells so people would pay attention to the revolution? The PlayStation controller represented the people being played by the government. There is so much more in that performance, and there is a reason the man won a Pulitzer prize.

100% not the worst Super Bowl. I thought it was a good game (watched til half, went to bed)... KC got stomped and the Eagles played well.

2019: Patriots 13 and Ram 3. 0-0 after the first quarter, 3-3 after the second, and there was only one touchdown. Worst one off the top of my head.

I thought the 2019 Super Bowl as excellent, just void of offense.

When you start looking at worst super bowls ever they mostly involve the Bills and Broncos, although the Chargers vs Niners was also horrible.

Nah, boring AF. Especially as they were both high scoring teams: the Rams were 2nd and Pats 4th in the regular season.

He should have had an Orangebird head on in the middle of the flag. But that would be too "real" and so he just stuck to the Drake dispute cuz he is such a serious and hardcore artist - deep thoughts and feelings and all that. [/img]

3-3 going into the 4th quarter is more exciting than 24-0 at halftime IMO

Yet, if people turn away because they don't enjoy the music then the message is lost to them.

Pretty tough to find any artist in a country as big as the US that everyone will love. I never watch the superbowl, but EVERY year the conversation online afterwards is about how lame people thought the halftime show was. Could just be the vocal minority online.

I was on edibles 2 hours before the kick off. I found some rootbeer flavoured 12.5 mg hard candies, I popped 3 of them
