The America D has been fantastic. Just imagine if they had Quinn as well! I would trade any Canuck player or prospect for Brady - CanuckDon
Yup, impressive D-unit with a world class goalie. Tkachuk bros, snipers like Connor, Guentzel, Matthews, make them lethal. US are a better balanced team so far.
I keep thinking about how much more insane the game would've been with Makar and QH in the lineup. Pumped the NHL are getting back to this stage with this crop of elite players to watch.
By the time the Olympics roll around - guys like Bedard, Fantilli, Cooley, Celebrini, Power, Beniers, Hutson will be sniffing around as well.
Boldys a beast, insane that he dropped to 12 and Caulfield 15, they're currently 2/3 in pts from their draft class. |

Interesting fact, of the 38 players, who were on the ice last night, at least 13 of them were not 1st round picks. Canada had 8 and the Americans had at least 5. 1/3rd of the players were 2nd round or later.

There was an interesting comment during the Sweden/Finland game that there's only 1 undrafted player in the tournament. Matinpalo from Finland. The kid cleared waivers this year. Pretty huge jump onto that team and competing against these players. Cool little side story. |

D-Petey is 21 years old today, now he can legally have a delicious Michelob Ultra when he comes to the USA 🇺🇸 |

Idk what the 1st reference means.
Yes why not Hill? The Finns are never to be taken lightly. Alway underrated & never get enough credit imo. We could use a Finn or 2 on the Canucks. - Nighthawk
Well just that it was a great game that did not involve Petey in any way, yet some still find a need and way to bash him.
Should be interesting the USA Sweden game, I'm sure there'll be plenty of thoughts about a time machine and who the nucks should have traded when, in fact, there was only one choice - trade the guy that quit on the team.
Anyway, I'm off to Mexico tomorrow, enjoy the rest of the tourney everyone and Go Canada ... just don't look past those pesky finns! |

Same. You'd have to really be following the AHL to have heard of him. He just got recalled by Ottawa at the end of December. He wouldn't have even gotten a sniff without all the injuries to Finland's D. I dig stories like that. Tell this kid the tournament is a gimmick and a cash grab. |

If the Canucks European scouts would actually leave Sweden once in a while, maybe the Canucks could find a player like that. |

Many inn here thought Vincent Desharnais was a good signing, as he was an experienced defenseman, who could provide a bit of physicality. He had a whopping 114 games of nhl experience at the age of 28

Yeah I don’t get the “it’s trash” crap. Agree it was one of the best games we’ve got to see in a while.
John Cooper needs to manage the bench better. I’ve seen enough of the Tampa line. How can you expect to play a hard fought game in the corners along the boards and play Marchand and Bennett less than 10 minutes in the game? - K-man25
Shouldn’t be 3 TBL F’s on the roster to begin with. Marchand like him or not is a very good puck hound & more. |

Not going to please everyone with the roster selections but I think we can all see that some players shouldn’t have been selected. If Armstrong wasn’t involved, do you think Parenko or Billington would have been on the team? Doughty fresh back from injury? - K-man25
Pareyko no probs the other 2 👎🏻 |

Listening to the reason they gave for selecting Doughty was a head scratcher. They talked about how many minutes a night he can play and how many long playoff runs he's done. So I'm thinking is this tourney going to run 2 months of 90 min games or something instead of 4 games?
 - boonerbuck
Oh wasn’t aware of that story. What a total head scratcher load of bs. 2 games so far in a week is a tough grind lol |
