Saw an article this morning that the Leafs were getting Laughton for Minten or a first. Thoughts?
- Whipper

I'm sure they could do better with either asset.

100% export tax on all energy. You want your people to pay more for things? Here, let us help.

We will just sit back and watch while you look to replace your crude from Venezuela, Russia, or any of the middle east countries you've bombed the (frank) out of and sanctioned. Cause there's no other crude on earth your refineries can handle, (frank)er.

Sounds ridiculous.

Was this put out by another "think they know it all" youtuber......or bedroom podcaster?

I've been doing some deep, deep thinking on this, and you franked up by putting out Savard over Doug Harvey.

I'm not convinced. But since I like you, this is all for fun and your opinion is bullpoop I'll let it slide
- Scabeh

I've obviously put too much work into this, but I'm just killing time until a meeting:

Your Montreal team:

4 Art Ross Trophies
8 Richard Trophies (I'm backdating - awarding to guys who scored the most goals before the trophy was established)
4 Hart Trophies
2 Norris Trophies (Doug Harvey won 7)
3 Vezina Trophies
4 Conn Smythe Trophies (Serge Savard won 1)(acknowledging Richard could have won this award, but it wasn't established yet)

Edmonton:

15 Art Ross Trophies
6 Hart Trophies
4 Norris Trophies
1 Vezina Trophy
4 Conn Smythe Trophies

Pittsburgh:

8 Art Ross Trophies
5 Richard Trophies
5 Hart Trophies
3 Norris Trophies
1 Vezina
4 Conn Smythe Trophies

And on a personal note, I was a bit surprised to see that Lafleur would have only won one Richard Trophy. He was my favourite player when he was in his prime - I would have guessed the number to be 3-4.

Something that I've never understood about the NHL:

The all-star game started as a fund raiser for Ace Bailey. OK, great.

Then it morphed into a fundraiser for the NHLPA's pension fund. OK, I'm still on board.

Once it became stale, the NHL's raison d'etre was they needed the game to thank/schmooze their major sponsors. Whatever.

But now that they hold several outdoor games a year, can't they just schmooze the sponsors at those games, and let the all-star game/weekend die?

I think it started with a Flyers reporter saying that they would want Minten or a 1st as a starting point. Someone then suggested it was a proposed trade.

I suspect the question is does the game make them money or if not, do they believe that it will make them money in the future.
