The next tournament is 2028, so I'm guessing that they're rolling the dice that this situation will be resolved one way or the other. They're probably figuring on full-scale nuclear war because I don't know how they can make 8 national teams out of the NHL players. The Czechs, who are the next largest player population in the NHL not playing, I think have something like 13 NHL forwards and 5 NHL defensemen . . . roughly. Like they'd have to dig into the AHL to compliment a roster. So how bad would it be any of the other 2 nations that would make up this 8 nation tournament?

I don’t see how they can run 8 teams in the short break that the league will allow for these tournaments. Adding Russia is probably feasible, moving to 4 round robin games followed by a championship game.

The prices were outrageous, I’m guessing not many families could afford to take their kids, so kinda the opposite of what the NHL kept saying all star weekend was all about.
