A President constantly repeats that he’s going to use ‘economic force’ to annex a free nation - art of the deal.
A bunch of drunk Canadians boo the American anthem at a hockey tournament - this is an unforgivable insult to every American who’s died for freedom!!
 emotional damage. |

You’re completely bass-ackwards!
The classless fans in Canada that booed the U.S. National anthem owe the U.S. and their fellow countrymen an apology for being completely classless buffoons. They embarrassed themselves, their team, their country, and the NHL. |

I think it will be easier for everyone in Canada and US once Canada becomes the 51st state. No passports required! |

Anthem booing is ridiculous. Just listen to ye song and respect those who caught for their country. It’s not about a single person or a tax.
Hopefully the folks here saying that the US fans didn’t boo Canadian anthem today are clearly not watching game. There were absolutely boos. Not as strong as in Montreal, but absolutely boos.
Both barns were booing - both classless things to do. The only good thing was in BOTH, the cheers at the end of the anthem (Can/US) there were far more and louder cheers.
No anthems at games. Makes no sense.
The Sabres guy is jokes. Looney fellow eh. Funniest thing I read in a while |

Very well said! I was born in Canada and now a US Citizen. Canadians have always seen the USA as our big brother. We are 2 countries but were brothers!
We should respect all anthems.
Enough of this and let's drop the puck!!!

EK, you act like this is the first time that Canadian fans, especially in Montreal, have booed the American anthem.
Back in April of 2009 Canadiens' legends Jean Belivuea and Bob Gainey both made public announcements asking their fans to stop booing the American anthem. There have been others as well. I don't remember any apologizes given! |

I think booing anthems is gross. However, there wasn't even that much booing, nowhere close to the majority of fans in the arena that night were doing it, and it lasted for like 10 seconds. Media sensationalized it, as usual for a topic that causes divide, and people lapped up like a kitten in front of a bowl of milk. Its another example of just how ridiculously sensitive people are these days, on both sides of this, The booers and the people crying about the booing, alike.
Now, before the start of the anthems, in these games, you can hear them come over the speakers and ask fans not to boo them. |

Canada doesn’t have to like the president but booing the national is wrong. They did make it political |

I listened to it, I didn't hear any booing. If there was, it was nothing like the ones you heard loud and clear in Montreal! |

If only Kamala got elected he would have been so proud with the direction the country was heading. Directly into the (frank)ing toilet like it was before she lost. Thankfully. |

Great post! I more embarrassed that a resource rich country like Canada has put themselves in a position to be even bullied. I dont agree with what Trump is doing with the tariffs because its very much like the coach Daryl Sutter, gets great results initially but has a very very short shelf life. The silver lining in all this for Canada is that many Canadians across the Country are realizing how ridiculous & horrible this Country has been run for the last 9 years. & Mr Musk, could you please come to Canada & do your Doge routine when you are done down there? I shudder at the thought of the corruption/fraud going unchecked here. - Kevin R
Not sure on the Sutter reference….but you are spot on with the rest of it. Do I like the Trump rhetoric about the 51rst state comments? No…I find it insulting. Do I like insulting a neighbour by booing their national anthem? No it’s ignorant.
A few things….a deficit is not A subsidy….a subsidy would be if the US gave Canada $….the deficit is literally the US buying more commodities then they sell us….
The US economy is second to none. Using cheap energy to help run their country ….using cheap lumber to build new homes….the trade agreement in all it’s mechanisms have HELPED the US economy….anyone suggesting otherwise needs to educate themselves on simple economics. That is why in 2018 after Trump HIMSELF touted the trade agreement he negotiated as “the worlds best ever trade agreement, everyone is telling me” lol.
On the face of it, Trump is a transactional president. He is for getting the best possible terms and fully understands what I’ve stated. He just simply is willing to burn bridges along the the way to help his country. Trump is business first, politics second….
And thanks Ek….but most Canadians understand where this situation is originating from…no Apology necessary. |

The great thing about Trump's trolling, is it makes it really easy to identify people who are genetically incapable of discernment. Do you really think he'd make Canada a state? It would be like adding a second California and the far-left would rule forever. We're talking about a nation who worships Trudeau as their lord, savior and creator. When he was elected, Canada had the most prosperous middle class in the world, it's now at the level as the poorest state in the US, West Virginia. They did nothing as he took Canada from being 8% foreign born, to 38% foreign born. By filling the country with foreigners who could care less about hockey, Hockey Canada funding has been slashed and participation in the game has fallen by 25%. Canada is done for, and Trump does NOT want them, and neither does the rest of the country. - bluelineenforcer
There's quite a lot of truth here. While you will meet a great many who claim to dislike Trudeau, most people voted for him and they will now just vote for the next lefty in Mark Carney. Adding Canada would be a democrats dream! And as you've said, adding another California.
And yes, Canada is "done for"...unless we start exploiting our rich resources...but Greta told Canadians "How DARE you"...and Canadians listened. Lol |

Pretty much on point. However, HE views those deficits as a subsidies when you consider the tariffs imposed by Canada and benefits you gain by having us as your neighbor. People never mention Canada's substantial tariffs on US products. He blames our politicians more than yours. Both red and blue. That's what makes him unique. He knows they're all on the take. |

As a Canadian, I think you have this dead wrong.
We are the ones that owe an apology. Our Prime Minister and basically all of his cabinet spent the last 4+ years chirping Trump to the media thinking he wouldnt get elected again. They put the target on our back. I think the tariffs are dumb and won't benefit either side, but they will hurt Canada way more than the US. I actually think there would be no tariffs if it was Poilievre as our PM rather than Trudeau.
Trump isn't making threats to invade, he is talking about making an offer to Canadians to become a part of the US. I would welcome a proposal to make that happen as I think there is a huge benefit to both countries if that were to happen and frankly, my opinion is that our leadership has been driving us off a cliff. ***5 years ago I would have never said this, but the Canada I grew up on is a different world that the one we live in today*** And for the record, if the US did want to invade us, they could send the high school ROTC's from a couple states and overwhelm our military, so lets be real about any of this 1812 commentary.
I think the tariffs and talk about Canada becoming a 51st state is a welcome distraction to the people running our country... Donald Trump is a perfect scapegoat for them. Our economy is headed down the toilet and now they can blame it on him instead of taking responsibility for their own failed policies. Our politicians will be fine though...
So my American friends on here, know that we aren't all bumholes. I appreciate you guys and love the hockey rivalry we have going on right now. Great for the sport and lets hope we get to face off in the finals. Booing another countries national anthem is never an acceptable thing, especially not when we are talking about our neighbors and friends. |

“I have decided for purposes of fairness that I will charge a reciprocal tariff. Meaning whatever countries charge the United States of America we will charge them, no more no less,” Trump said as he signed the executive order, dubbed the “Fair and Reciprocal Plan,” on Thursday.

Canada does protect its dairy industry….but that’s part of the free trade pact…it’s a known irritant…. Canada does not have any Tarrifs that I know of….hence the “free trade agreement”. Most of the deficit is made up of natural mineral, Cheap energy, potash that actually fuels the US economy. He can view a deficit however he wants….but they simply aren’t subsidies. |
