It’s nice seeing Sullivan make in game adjustments, but then it’s also obvious he’s bad at it at the same time. |

May God's grace bless Mike Lange's family and the legion of Pens fans who enjoyed him for so long. |

It was a great battle that could have went either way. I think USA maybe had a few more Grade A's but Binnington was on last night.
I watched the game at a sports bar with a bunch of my teammates, most of which are Leafs fans, and they immediately called out Matthews on not covering McDavid on the winning goal. |

It was brutal - no reason for him to go into the corner, the Dman behind the net was pressuring him there, not like dude was scoring from there anyways.
Binnington stood on his head before that though, stole the game for them imo.
Was an awesome game to watch

I remember yelling “HEEEEE SHOOTS AND SCORES” with my dad in unison after a penguins goal in the late 90s and early 2000’s which got me into the sport. He was truly 1 of 1 in sports broadcasting and brought in an audience in the early 2000’s just to hear him when we had didn’t even have any players worth watching. Can’t wait to tell my son about him just like my dad did. |

Binnington was lights out last night. He took a lot of crap going into the tournament but he answered big IMO. Will be interesting to see what happens with the decision making process heading into the Olympics. I'd assume the coaching staffs/management staffs will be largely the same for next year.
I watched McDavid get open in the slot and I swear it was in slow motion haha. As soon as it hit his stick, I knew it would be a big snipe in the top corner. Matthews really messed up there. USA stars had their chances and didnt capitalize, McDavid had one chance and took it. That was the difference in the game.

Watching pens hockey is gonna suck after watching 4 nations. I was surprised by the intensity they played with from the drop of the first puck, unlike wallowing half assed through an all star game. The tkachuks and mcavoy were studs. That was some Damm good hockey and I love trump always referíng to dummy Trudeau as governor 😂 |

When’s the next one? Is this permanently replacing the all star game or is it only once every X amount of years? Cus this was absolutely a hit. I’d consider expanding it to include a team Europe in there. Not sure if there’s still some doping or other political reasons excluding Russia but putting in Europe and Russia would make it even better |

lol yeah once TDL hits it’s over.
4 nations was great, best hockey in years. I think nhl has too many teams and games. Way too watered down. Fewer games would mean more for pts and intensity would crank up. It’ll never happen. |

The tournament was great, everyone’s going to remember US coming out in game 1 and setting the tone though. That’s the biggest take away from the entire event. It feels like USA-1 Canada-1 and there should be 1 more game to me. I wouldn’t even mind if USA-Canada 3 game series, Sweden-Finland -3 game series. |

Next year NHL players will be in the Olympics, hence the NHL will shut down for that and no all-star game. I believe they are planning a bigger World Cup type tournament after that, not sure when it will start.
Russia is still banned from international competition by every international organization. Letting them play could've caused issues with non-NHL players being allowed to play. |

Agreed. I posted on the previous blog that it felt like a tie, each team won one game. I like the old Canada Cup format where the final was a 3-game series. |
