As an American, I was so happy for Canada. Trump made a game that I love and relax to, political. I love Canada's response. It's the first time I've ever rooted against my home country. The Tkachuk brothers acted like donkey clowns. Congratulations Canada. We love you!

They’ll have a career in marketing and promotions when they’re done playing hockey. Not sure if it will be with the NHL or the WWE. They were just creating hype for a game, league, and country they love.

The games were awesome. I was happy to see the players buy in and put on a show. Congrats to Canada!

Also it's just a game. (frank) off with the politics. Get a life/help/a hobby/go (frank) yourself. Not everything needs your (frank)ing political doom and gloom. Let people escape from the fact life is a (frank)ing nightmare for a bit. It's actually healthy which it's clear many of you are not. Lighten the (frank) up.

Well said. What was always great about International competitions, like this, was that we (USA) always represented the good guys. Now we are the evil empire; spurning democratic countries and cozying up to dictators. Took all the fun out of it for me. Well, at least the good guys won.

Like father, like sons.

It seems half of Team USA is always the biggest douchebags in hockey. Been that way since the 80’s.

You sound like an American. Lose, so what no one cares. Win, USA! USA! USA!

Ignoring for a moment that my mother was born in Toronto, I would have felt the same way had the USA done it. In fact, I'd have felt even more cringe because it would have been the team I was rooting for. It was just......ick.

WTF are you and the other idiots talking about? The classless canadians made it political when they booed the American national anthem. These guys are representing their country, playing a game. Half of them don't agree what the president says, and you're still booing them. Real classy.

That was so awesome for the NHL. What a game that was! They should do this every year before the Olympics.

An American calling Canadians classless? Priceless.

About as classless as Islanders fans booing Tavares every time he comes to the Island?

Remember, it's your President spouting off about Canada becoming the 51st state and trying to impose tariffs on Canadian goods that is causing this booing.

It's not the players being booed. It's the anthem and the current Presidential administration that represents it being booed. Maybe if that buffoon kept his mouth shut none of this would have happened.....except for the USA losing to Canada in the finals, that always seems to happen.

Trump did nothing to make the game political. The sensitive and entitled Trudeau lovers did.

The fighting theatre and the USA comparisons to 1980 are totally retarded.

They win a close game and are talking about Miracle on Ice? WTF. Nothing can be organic anymore. All staged marketing. Let the game speak for itself.

Love all the players and passion. They are pro athletes, they suit up and want to win. If that concept is foreign to you in everyday life, then that says a lot about your own personal politics.

The trophy dance at the end was totally Trudeau Come on NHL. let the players keep their dignity. They would have played that game for a cooler of beer and it would have meant the same.

Lets get back to the regular season instead of drawing grand scheme conclusions based upon a little 4 team round robin tourney, where teams/countries were excluded.

BINGO!

You realize that the United States and Russia cooperated on more projects during the cold war than during nearly any other point in their history, right?

So what you're saying is that my points were all valid, and you have no legitimate rebuttal to them. Instead, you try and redirect with some nonsensical rhetoric.

Do you understand how unpopular Trudeau is in Canada right now?

I don't agree with the booing of any national anthem. Nor do I agree with elected leaders attempting to undermine longstanding allegiances between countries with infammatory and unnecessary rhetoric.

There are numerous historical instances of Canadians assisting Americans, and vice-versa. Your President and his recent treatment and disrespect towards your strongest ally is where you should be looking at and pointing the blame towards. There was no booing of the American anthem during Biden's administration, and Trudeau was in power in Canada for the entirety of that.

Booing a player because fans feel slighted versus booing a country's national anthem are not on the same level of classlessness. The American players have nothing to do with politics. You heard a few boos in Boston, which I don't agree with, but generally the fans were respectful of your anthem. That's the difference.
