Why do you want the coach of the year gone? His best forward was a 3rd liner on the Rangers…not sure what he is supposed to do
- CanuckDon

Can't get the team prepared to start games, or to buy into his systems, or both. They are a talented enough lineup, despite the year long internal issues within the dressing room, to be a playoff team.

Pretty sure they had 6 or 7 new players added during last seasons anomaly season.
- Reubenkincade

They did.

I don't care if he's making 7 million or 11 million, something isn't right with him either physically or mentally...or both. The whole situation is unfortunate. A fantastic young offensive player ruined by the organization, I'm really not surprised, just disappointed. It's sad that they've mishandled such a great young player so badly.

I hope he's traded, gets whatever it is that he needs, and goes on to much better things, like so many others the Canucks have traded away.

Are you still sticking to your promise of quitting the Canucks once Pouty is traded?

Yes, but not the board, I will be back to haunt y'all and laugh in your faces. There will be many bans in my future.

This is sounding like none of the responsibility falls on Petey to perform up to expectations. Which is pretty much the only thing that gets this mess resolved.

It's best that he gets to a new situation. I hope they give him away for nothing and then he flourishes. We can do Cam Neely all over again.

It is that easy. In any line of work, earn your paycheque or face scrutiny. If pro sports are too hard he should retire

Yes I agree, both management and Petey need to be held accountable, he was never a top five player in the league, so why was he given a contract that reflects that he is? Petey is taking his share of the criticism. No issues with that. He's openly said he needs to play better, and he does. But nothing is really helping.

Either management made a HUGE mistake, for which he'll pay the price publicly, not them, although he'll still get paid with a guaranteed contract, or they'll move along from him like they've done with others.

Isn't it...I love a good hockey debate, I'm tired of looking at engineered drawings anyways.

I want the kid and the team to be successful, but he's just fallen off a cliff this year offensive compared to his norms. That doesn't just happen, there's reasons, but not even Petey can figure out what's happened.

I think he needs to be put into a better situation where there's less dinosaurs within the organization. Tuff love isn't working. This is the same organization who felt it was ok for Mikhayev to play half a year on a partially torn ACL, even though they were out of the playoffs, before he had surgery and then he wasn't ready the following year.

The organization doesn't draft particularly well (Virtanen/Juolevi/Podkolzin), even when they do the tend to trade those players away (McCann) I'm pulling extra hard for him because they picked him...sue me.

Regardless of his play, I think it's pretty obvious that by year 3 of his contract he probably won't even be top 15 paid in the league. It's a bit of a bad faith argument to claim top 5, if you understand how contracts/salary cap work.

Dylan Guenther...

Yes, I should've touched on that but I'm getting long-winded with my replies. Clearly they felt a rising cap would factor into his average salary falling in terms of percentage of cap he takes up. But fans don't see it that way, they want immediate satisfaction. This year he's not earning his salary, which he isn't, so lets get rid of him ASAP.

We are going to see another Jared McCann on our hands, I just know it. He was brought up too early, he wasn't as mature as he needed to be, which he's acknowledged. It took him three subsequent team to grow up, but when he did, he's been a fantastic player, he's now 28 and lead the Kraken four straight years in scoring.

Which isn't saying much, but the Canucks could use his offense right now. They give up on players way too soon. The organization and fanbase have no patience. Losing for 54 years will do that, I guess.

We're on the same page re:Mccann, I know people who want Petey gone feel really strongly about it, but imo the current core relies on him being a star, so I'd rather they stick with him, even if it takes another year or 2 to get back to where he was. Getting rid of him feels like completely giving up, and I don't want to see that happen while Hughes is on the roster.

Yes...trading him will never be a "win / win" situation for the team, rarely does the team trading the best player win a trade. His value is at an all time low. They end up with some flash in the pan kid who seemingly had a lot of potential, but never amounted to much, and even if he did they won't surround him with the right combination of talent.

Not to mention now you've significantly reduced your chances of keeping Quinn Hughes....and round and round the Canucks go.

This is a business. The goal of the business is to win a cup and build the value of the brand/ company. A successful business has no time for your fanboyism.

I don’t care who drafted him and where a players is from. He is a commodity like all players
