Gonna hurt when the Pens reload with Hagens an McKenna over the next 2 seasons. - Trox88
It’s a brilliant play and their mo Just make a mockery of the game by losing on purpose. |

I'm gonna remain optimistic until the trade deadline. My dooms day scenerio is Laughton stays while STL is able to move an older, more cap hit and term Brayden Schenn. |

Cha-Ching .. the Flyer's best defenseman strikes again! - jd250
Do you know how dumb you sound saying the same crap over and over. No, Sanheim did not score last night, and he is the Flyers best dman by a mile. |

You could see this coming, when the Flyers can play max intensity, they will win games. I want them to lose but won’t root for them to lose however.
Best case coming out of the break was probably picking 6-7, stay in the top 10, pray DB sells both RR and Laughts and we get into top 7 |

Huge win. Unfortunately, didn’t get any help within the conference. What a shame. Wouldn’t want to play this flyers team in the playoffs.
Want to see the Flyers be buyers to get help for now (players with term) and future. Let’s see what the conglomerate can come up with.
Looking forward to the pens getting a top 5 pick. Hopefully even higher.

Its a quandary. I am always happy when they win a game, even though I know it is hurting them in the near and long future. I'm tired of being bad and also having no chance at truly elite talent without massive luck. They aren't going to luck in to a player like Michkov every year. They need to hit on these picks, IMO they have blown it the last 2 drafts except for the obvious pick that HAD to be made with Michkov.
If they keep drafting "Flyers Type Players" it wont ever change.

Can’t wait until after the trade deadline and Risto and The Room are still on the team. This is only giving DB more ammo to justify making a run at the playoffs. |

Don’t worry in 6-8 years they will sign the Tkachuk brothers to retirement contracts. They were born to be flyers. |

I worried they are thinking about doing that with Ekblad and Bennett.

100%. Though in 6-8 years they will have been bought out to bring in the brothers! |

[Kurz] I'm told that the Flyers haven't gotten many calls on defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen. Fewer than they expected. There is a decent chance now he sticks around post-deadline. Things can change quickly. But that's where it stands at the moment.

EK,
I think what you see as important is not really what is truly important. This team does not need to win games. This team does not need to hold onto Risto or Laughton. This team is no where close to a cup team and far closer to a bottom 5 team no matter what games they win.
Risto - He is playing well. WHy hold onto an asset another year and risk a regression or injury. Move him while he has value. You also seem to forget he might not be the same defender when a new coach comes in.
Laughton - needing this guy in the room in overrated. This team has enough glue guys and now have some new glue guys coming into their own.
When I look at this team I see a mixture of parts that really are not that greatwhen all together. They should have moved Konecny instead of extending him. Ther is no need for guys like Hathaway, Peohling, Laughton and Cates to all be on the roster. Deslaurier should just be sent down. And really I would be looking to move Sanheim.
They seemto no to be able to look at the long game where I think you should be looking 3-4 years out, not 1-2 years. |

They have proven they dont take the stereotypical Flyer player.
People say Michov was the obvious pick but it was never a sure thing. Teams passed on him. Arizona that draft went completely offboard and selected a player outside the 1st round. Flyers could have easily selected Leonard
We added Drysdale through trade but he isn't a stereotypical Flyer, neither is Brink or Andrae. I dont know that id consider Luchenko to be a stereotypical Flyer. Yes hes a two way guy but the flyers usually go for size and strength.
Ppl still beat the Biuim dead horse but 6 D taken ahead of him and im pretty sure he was rank ahead of all those guys. Clearly the Flyers weren't the only ones seeing something they didnt like and passed. Only time will tell if the right decision was made

Pens, isles, montreal, and sabres should all be sellers (as of now). Maybe Rangers as 2 Dman went down last night. Add in 6/7 teams in the west.
Should be plenty of players available for contending teams to choose from.

The subject has been discussed and beaten to death as to why they both played out that way. But no, Flyerz geniuses!
