He's good. Practiced on 2nd PP unit with Jones. First PP unit was all forwards. How many shorties they giving up?

I guess that gives us a clear indication of what they think of Jones.
Can't see that helping his trade value, if that's the direction we're heading.
Edit: also, if Troch and Bread are manning the points, shorties are a distinct possibility. Uncontested. |

Zib is basically a defenseman now so him playing the point on the powerplay should be fine lol |

You sure about that?
I could stand outside Buckingham palace at attention, but that won't make me a King's Guard!! |

I just don't get it with Jones, he really hasn't been bad at all. And I definitely think he would be the best option to replace Fox on the PP. This organization just constantly shoots itself in the foot with developing homegrown talent. |

It's all on the coaches we end up with. Need a new one with the balls to play, and give fair ice time to, a young player. |

We need to find a team that could use BOTH Smith and Lindgren, retaining some amount of money, to maximize the return for them. Individually idk how much we get. A team like Edmonton or Vegas could probably use both guys. Their depth in spots in questionable
Rangers are in a unique position where if they trade their rentals they probably get better on the ice. Or at least younger and more exciting. |

Size matters. If he was 6’2 215 lbs we wouldn’t even be having this conversation |

We are aware of your ideal D mould. But, we are talking about why the 5'11" 190lb Jones can't replace the 5'11" 180lb Fox in QB'ing the power play. So, the argument of size isn't applicable in this case. |

And Lindgren sucks? What’s ur point? I’ve always said Lindgren was to small regardless of how much I love him as a player that actually gives a damn night in and night out. |

#1 Jones isn’t Fox
#2 Fox is also too small for my liking and I’d be 100% fine with him being traded.
To my point of why he hasn’t been given a legit full time shot to make it, it’s his size. We already have 2 small dmen, (Lindgren Fox) which is 2 2 many for my liking. Can’t have a 3rd and think you’re going to be successful |

Tell me again where I’ve ever said Lindgren was a good size NHL defenseman.
Also find how many times I’ve said part of it is bc we ALREADY have 2 small defensemen and can’t add a 3rd. I’ll wait. |

Having a big back end helps. But look at Miller. Big but the softest player they have. Schneider does not even play a tough game anymore.
Its the right type of player along with the rest of the attributes.

The problem with Fox that people miss on is, and the size thing, your best defenseman, and in most cases most expensive defenseman, can’t be under 6 ft and smaller. That when your asking for trouble when that smaller guy is the one who logs 23-24-25 minutes a game because over time it’s takes a toll. One injury to him lasts all season (like we’re seeing) and by the time the playoffs come, it’s toast. I mention Ekblad and people yell lol but that’s the type who you need logging all those minutes, and especially in the playoffs
Furthermore, now he has a shoulder injury and the opponents know. So now Fox’s shoulder will be a target by players and that will take a toll. It’s really nothing against Fox as a player, it’s just logical to think size is better. Fox would be our MVP if he was the 2nd pair guy. Which could happen if Schneider could fully blossom to a top pair guy |
