Made some changes, it's time to let Elias Petterson #40 go.
And yes, I agree, defensemen are the cornerstone of any winning or successful franchise. - Pacificgem
When did you come to this conclusion, because for many years, leading up to the drafts, I would post defensemen and you would reply that they need to draft high-end forwards. Oh well, typical Lefty flip-flopping, again |

Yeah, it'd be better to have less skilled players - NorthNuck
Why does it have to be a less skilled player, is that what you desire?
Personally, for a top 5 paid player in the league, I would want size, speed, skill, and determination.
But you do you... |

The Oilers can just count their lucky stars Draisaitl wasn't emotionally abusing McDavid and killing his inner beauty. - Pacificgem

No, didn't say any of that. But you build from the back end out. I'd give Hughes the keys to the vault. Dmen have a longer shelf life and you just don't trade franchise Dmen just to look for another to build around. You're just being silly. - Load Management

Okay so you also think we're talking about Pettersson, when, in fact, we have always been talking about Hughes. |

Hughes isn't going anywhere, they're going to give him 120 M paid out anyway he wants it. |

Just read this comment over at CA, pretty sure I heard it before
But it’s so abundantly obvious now that the pieces this team thought it could build around aren’t the right ones for the job. |

Hughes isn't being traded until it is forced upon the team. Lets hope it doesn't come to that. |

Not even close. McDavid has never produced at a level Petey has over the last year. As a matter of fact he put up his 3rd 100 point plus season in a row in 2019. Which is exactly what you want a guy to do after you reward him with a massive contract. - Load Management

You’re delusional, I’ve ALWAYS maintained you build through the middle of the ice (centers) and defense. Then you start filling in the pieces from there. Goaltending goes without saying. |

Zibanejad has really taken off offensively since Miller went back to New York. |

Bo probably would have vibed well with Tocchet - NorthNuck
Yep. Right up to the point where Bo skates to the bench as Garland is being fed his teeth. |

@NiqhilVelji
Something interesting.
The Canucks are 26-15-10 with Demko and Lankinen in net. Meaning with their two starting goalies the Canucks have played at a 100 point rate this season,
The problem? They’re 1-6-1 with Arturs Silovs. |
|

Here it is. This is the winner
Petey and Hronek and a 1st
Bedard and Seth |

Ya, this on pace for crap works out real well. I remember some clown on here continually stating how Pouty was on a 100 point pace, during last seasons anomaly

Wasn’t Tocchet #92 for the Coyotes? Could be a bad omen. |

Yup, Silovs is the reason Pouty sucks the life out of hockey. |

I'm not defending Petey anymore. I always leave room for the possibility there are things going on we don't know about (there almost definitely are), but you won't find me saying his play of late hasn't been terrible. The guy looks slow, hesitant, and refuses to shoot. He's not a net negative thanks to his strong defensive play, but he isn't providing anything positive either. |
